Major and Minor Arcanas
There are as many interpretations to tarot cards as there are people who interpret them. I provide here only two interpretations for each card: That of upright and that of reverse or upsidedown. I have seperated these into linked categories to reduce the time it takes to load each page. If you find a link broken or a word misspelled let me know.
THE MAJOR ARCANA
The cards of the major arcana offer us broad categories of the stages and lessons of life: love, change, spirituality, morality. They are the 'Big Guns' of the Tarot, almost larger than life. Beginning with The Fool(0)and ending with The World (21), they form a complete allegory depicting the circle of life.
THE MINOR ARCANA
The minor arcana consist of four suits of 14 cards each totaling 56 cards. They represent many of life's everyday situations: material concerns, relationships, basic details.
THE COURT CARDS
The court cards often represent people in our lives.
KINGS
Represent older,powerful maried males (fathers) or young males mature for their years; males of knowledge and wisdom.
QUEENS
Mother figures and adult females.
KNIGHTS
Young males who are usualy single; older males who are young at heartor exceptionaly dynamic.
PAGES
Represent beginnings. Young, unmarried people. novices,inexperienced individuals. They are messengers
