Randy and Wynn hosted us along with Terry and Ken at their place on the Peninsula this weekend. They are near Port Ludlow which is just across Hood Canal bridge. Joy, Julian, Terry and Ken went out on Thursday and I joined them after work on Friday. I took my bicycle across on the ferry and road to Port Gamble where they picked me up. I wasn't too keen on riding across the bridge since it's under construction and I didn't know what the bike lane/shoulder situation would be. There were lots of bike commuters on the ferry and I felt a part of the "in" crowd. It would be a great way to commute to work: a nice ride to the ferry, a picturesque ferry ride w/ your coffee and then a short walk up the hill to downtown -- not sure I would want to be doing it on a rainy day though. The highlights at Randy's house included throwing rocks into the water in their backyard, visting Karbo (see above) and sitting on a big tractor. Not to mention the outstanding cuisine and fresh strawberry and cherry ice cream (all homemade!).
