Inuyasha:The Angel Wings Pendant

    Reasons Why Guys Like Girls
  1. They Always Smell Good Even If Its Just Shampoo
  2. The way their heads always find the right spot on our shoulder
  3. How cute they look when they sleep
  4. The ease in which they fit into our arms
  5. The way they kiss you and all of a sudden everything is right in the world
  6. How cute they are when they eat
  7. The way they take hours to get dressed but in the end it makes it all worth while
  8. Because they are always warm even when its minus 30 outside
  9. The way they look good no matter what they wear
  10. The way they fish for compliments even though you both know that you think she's the most beautiful thing on this earth
  11. How cute they are when they argue
  12. The way her hand always finds yours
  13. The way they smile
  14. The way you feel when you see their name on the caller ID after you just had a big fight
  15. The way she says "lets not fight anymore" even though you know that an hour later....
  16. The way they kiss when you do something nice for them
  17. The way they kiss you when you say "I love you"
  18. Actually ... just the way they kiss you...
  19. The way they fall into your arms when they cry
  20. Then the way they apologize for crying over something that silly
  21. The way they hit you and expect it to hurt
  22. Then the way they apologize when it does hurt. (even though we don't admit it)!
  23. The way they say "I miss you"
  24. The way you miss them
  25. The way their tears make you want to change the world so that it doesn't hurt her anymore..... Yet regardless if you love them, hate them, wish they would die or know that you would die without them ... it matters not. Because once in your life, whatever they were to the world they become everything to you. When you look them in the eyes, traveling to the depths of their souls and you say a million things without trace of a sound, you know that your own life is inevitable consumed within the rhythmic beatings of her very heart. We love them for a million reasons, No paper would do it justice. It is a thing not of the mind but of the heart. A feeling. Only felt.

The Rescue

Kyra paused before the alley. Shortcut or long way? She paused and pushed her short blonde bangs from her eyes and wrapped the black nylon jacket tighter around her. She turned and looked behind her, they were still following her, stupid thugs. She ran into the alley. I can’t keep running like this,if I dont lose them quick I'm going to collapse from exhaustion

Turning a corner she slumped against the wall breathing hard. Her head snapped suddenly to the side at the sound of footfalls echoing of the alley walls. Oh shit, they couldn't possibly have caught up with me so quick, this isn't good. She turned to run then stopped, hadn’t they been behind her? Oh no they can’t have… She whirled, they had, they had flanked her, she was trapped now.

Her stalkers circled around her, all six of them. One of them lunged at her; she ducked, spun and let her leg connect with his knees, sending him crashing to the ground. Two more came at her from opposite sides. Her open palm slammed into his nose and sent him flying backwards with blood pouring from his nose. She whirled, but too late. The second one crashed into her sending her tumbling to the ground.

“ It’s all over now darlin’, just give it up.”

Oh God help me, I can’t die like this. Kyra heard the rush of wings and then the thug’s weight suddenly lifted off her. She picked herself up off the ground in time to see three dark figures jump down into the ally and knock the remaining thugs unconscious. Bright gold eyes stared at her and then her rescuers were gone. She looked around the alley. Fine just leave me all alone then. She stroked the starburst pendant around her neck. Oh well, guess I’ll just go home. She turned to leave, and a hand covered her mouth, stifling a scream. A sharp pain hit her neck, like a sharp knife stabbing into her. Her legs went limp and everything went black.

A warm tongue touched her neck, she laughed and sat up looking for the cute little puppy.

“ Oh good you’re awake. I was starting to wonder if maybe Alexey had killed you.”

Kyra looked up at the speaker and gawked. He looked like he was from medieval Japan. His long silver hair fell freely down to the middle of his back. His deep eyes glowed like molten gold. He wore a long kimono-like red coat; she had never seen anything like it. He sat down next to her. She stared at his dog-ears; they were so cute! She reached up the scratch them.

“Hey cut that out!”

Kyra flinched back suddenly scared.

“Calm down Inuyasha, no need to be rude.” a voice sounded from the doorway.

Kyra looked up to see a figure standing there in a long black leather coat. His short black hair and dark eyes were somehow entrancing. He flashed his most disarming smile.

“ Hello there darlin’. I am Lord Gehn at your service.” He paused for effect. Then grabbing her hands he kneeled beside her and looked into her eyes. “Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are? I think you are the most beautiful lady in the entire world. I see now that I was born just for your pleasure. Please say you’ll bear my children.”

Kyra stared at him in disbelief. “ I…uh……well…” she stuttered

Inuyasha looked like he was going to vomit. He grabbed Kyra by the arm and dragged her from the room.

“Come on let’s get out of her before “Lord Gehn” has an orgasm. Don’t pay him any attention he’s just a hentai anyway.”

Kyra frowned. “What is he? Gehn I mean? I felt something about him, someting not human.”

Inuyasha smirked. “That’s cause he isn’t. He’s a demon; his specialty is possession. His last master for helping to further the light cursed him. Where his right palm should be there is a giant rip, a black hole. Eventually he will be sucked into it as well. For that reason he thinks he can ask every girl to bear his children.”

“Why did he call himself Lord Gehn though?”

Kyra followed Inuyasha down the hall and out a large stained glass door into an enormous courtyard. It was surrounding by beautiful white stone walls giant willow and magnolia trees scattered thorugout the entire space.

Inuyasha laughed bitterly. “That? Before he betrayed his kind he was the Lord of the demons in Japan and then master of Germany, it’s been almost half a century since then.”

Inuyasha sniffed the air experimentally, jumped onto the roof and disappeared.

Kyra frowned. “ How rude.” A deep melodius voice laughed softly behind her

“ You’ll get used it, he does it all the time.” A figure landed behind her. He had dark brown hair and matching eyes, and his large, taut muscles were covered in a white toga.

“Good to see you’re feeling better. My name’s Seth, I-”

“Hey Fluffy! Time to eat!” Gehn yelled from the doorway.

“Coming Gehn.” Seth growled. Kyra looked up at Seth.

“Why did he call you that?”

Seth sighed and opened his wings. They were covered in soft downy feathers.

Kyra smiled. “They aren’t so bad I think they’re kind of cute.”

“Thanks, I think.”

Kyra looked up at the other two occupants of the room. She frowned.

“Wait weren’t there four of you?”

Seth looked at her curiously. "What makes you think that?

"Because I sensed four of you last night so where's the other one?

Gehn was pouting at the other end of the table. “Alexey isn’t feeling well…probably just doesn’t like my food.”

Seth glared at him. “ Quit being selfish Gehn, you know he’s just trying to be considerate to our guest.”

“Hey are you guys going to eat any of this or can I eat it all?” Inuyasha growled. He was already stuffing food into his mouth.

“For a dog demon he sure does act like a pig.” Gehn muttered.

Inuyasha shot to his feet. “You wanna say that to my face hentai?!?!”

“You wanna make me pig-face!” Gehn snapped.

"How about I beat an apology out of you bastard."

"Go ahead and try it."

Kyra sighed. “I’m not hungry. I’m just going to go to bed.” She turned and walked out of the room leaving Inuyasha and Gehn glaring at each other and Seth sadly watching her receding form

“Now look what you did you pervert! You scared her off.”

”Me? What are you talking about this is your fault pig-face!”

Seth rolled his eyes and turned to catch up Kyra. She looked up at him as he caught up with her.

“I guess those two don’t get along well.” Kyra sighed

Seth smiled. “Should I show you to a room?”

“I don’t know I didn’t mind the room I was in earlier,acutally.

“We have much nicer rooms, but if you want that one it’s fine with m. its Alexey’s favorite if I remember correctly.”

Kyra frowned. “What’s wrong with Alexey? Really? It has nothing to do with food does it?”

“Not really. He’s a vampire, and you’re a human.. It is unlikely but entirely possible for the smell of your blood to overwhelm his restraint. It doesn’t help that he has tasted your blood already.

Kyra nodded. She stopped in front of the door.
“Well, I guess this is it, my room.”

She stared into Seth’s eyes, such deep dark pools. Her fingers gently touching the soft down feathers of his wings she leaned toward him unconsciously lost in his eyes. Then suddenly jerked back.

“Sorry I guess I’m a lot more exhausted then I thought." The excuse sound stupid even to her

But Seth only smiled at her. “Quite alright, I compeletely understandable after all the trouble last night.

“Well goodnight.”

“Good night Kyra, sleep well

She closed the door and the lock clicked into place. Had she just tried to …., no way she couldn’t have fallen for him already. Oh man not again. Seth sighed. Why did he have to be the only one with manners?

Chapter 2: Alexey & the Bitch

Kyra lay on the bed trying to get to sleep. The room was dark, windowless, and filled with strange devices and artifacts. Many of which were no doubt millennia old

The room, as dark and scary as it should have been; was comforting for her, as darkness usually was. Her breath caught in her throat as her eyes suddenly caught movement in the room. At about the same time, her ears registered the soft sound of breathing.

The voice came not from the room, but from deep inside her head. Kyra turned to see crimson red orbs of demon eyes glowing across the bed from her, watching her hungrily.

She flung herself from the bed as “it” lunged for her, barely escaping his grasp. His? How had she known it was a he? Her mind finally caught up with her senses and she felt the overwhelming masculinity of this creature.

Her mind suddenly sent an electric shock to her body reminding her that she should be running for her life. Before she could turn and run, a strong arm grasped her neck and shoved her hard against the wall.

“Let……me…..go…” she managed to gasp.

As she struggled to rip the hand away from her neck, it only tightened though making her struggle for breath. Black spots clouded her vision, as her head spun and her eyesight narrowed to a small tunnel. A large blinding flash issued from her chest and the entire room rattled from a the shockwave that followed. The body connected to the hand around her neck hissed in pain and let go of her. Kyra gasped for breath, and looked around for her attacker, but the room was completely empty of life except for her. She sighed and sank back into the bed.

Guess I just met Alexey.

“Rise and shine beautiful!” Gehn virtually shouted blindinly sunlight streaming into the room from the open door into the pitch black room.

Kyra rolled over just a bit annoyed at being woken up and glared at him.

“Go away, its still dark out.”

“Hm…well maybe if you weren’t sleeping in what passes for a windowless vampire crypt you would realize that it was actually almost noon. Come on sleepy head, you have to get up, so much to do.”

Kyra yawned and managed to stumble out of the pitch black room, only to be blinded by the sunlight shining through the large stained glass windows of the entrance hall. She followed Gehn down the large ornate front staircase, across the hall and into the adjoining room, containing a large table that could probably hold a few dozen people.

As her eyes glided down the table studying the expensive looking dishes and silverware her eyes caught on the young man lounging comfortably at the end of the table watching her. He had shoulder length straight black hair and his soft brown eyes held a crimson glow to them when the light hit them just right. He sat with his head back his booted feet on the table, his long black trench coat falling all the way to the floor. He smiled at her.

Kyra blinked in surprise, that voice, it was in her head again. But how?

“ Your Alexey, right? How did you-?"

She shook her head. “No its fine, just weird.I thought vampires where afraid of light thoug? Shouldn't you be sleeping or somehting?

"Where's Inuyasha?

“Inuyasha’s outside, probably sulking in a tree somewhere in the grounds. I wouldn’t bother with him though, he doesn’t need anymore girls, even if he wanted them.”

“Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?”

Alexey shrugged. “He’s already got two girls to deal with back in his own time, he doesn’t need anymore. Though I doubt he wants any.”

“Alexey get your damn feet off my table!” Gehn snapped.

Alexey’s sarcasm echoed through her head making her laugh.

Kyra’s stomach suddenly growled for food. “Oh man, I’m totally starving, what have you got to eat around here?”

“Here,” Gehn held out a plate, “ You like pancakes right? Eat up.”

Kyra stared at the plate of pancakes for a moment before meeting Gehn’s gaze, her lip trembling.

“What? What’s wrong?”

“I don’t…can’t……eat chocolate..” Kyra managed to get out through her clenched teeth. Alexey roared with laughter.

< What the hell is it with women being so obsessed with chocolate when you’re bleeding your guts out once a month?>

“I see nothing funny about this, Alexey.” Gehn growled. “Fine don’t eat my food, see if I care.”

“ Aw, I like your food Gehn, I just don’t eat chocolate, I’m sorry.”

He nodded. “Its alright, don’t matter.”

She leaned over and kissed his cheek. “I don’t suppose you have anything else to eat?”

He sighed. “I’ll find something, let me go look.”

Seth walked into the room followed by a short white haired girl. The girl had pale skin and an ageless face. Power and knowledge swirled around her, power that was far advanced of her almost childlike appearance.

“Good to see your up, Kyra. We need to start getting you ready for the party tonight.”

“PARTY?!?! There’s a party? OH MY GOD! I don’t have anything to wear….” *tear*

Seth glared at Gehn who was just returning from the kitchen. “You haven’t told her yet?”

“Calm down fluffy, I was getting to it.”

(DONT CALL ME FLUFFY!!!)

The small girl at his side cleared her throat, taking Seth’s attention off Gehn.

“Oh I almost forgot, this is Alexandra, she’s a medium. She channels spirits and all that mess.”

“So this is your new pet Seth? A human? How pathetic.” Alexandra sneered.

Seth acted as though he hadn’t heard her and motioned for Kyra to follow him. He led her back across the entrance hall into what looked like a large room filled with drawers and closets.

“Your clothes are all in here, you may wear anything you wish. All of this is now yours.”

Kyra looked around the room, a number of elegant dresses were displayed throughout the room, but only two items caught her eye. One was a loose fitting, sapphire blue dress with long flowing sleeves. The other was a tight, body hugging black body armor, complete with a pink sash and matching knee, shoulder, and elbow pads.

After a moment she took down the armor and slid into it ( just so all you perverts know, Seth isn’t in the room so don’t get any wrong ideas) she grabbed a long curved black dagger, its sheath blacker than ebony and jeweled with rubies, and slid it onto the sash tied around her waist. By the time she finished the others were already waiting for her in the Grand Hall.

“I still don’t see why we should have to go to this stupid thing.” Inuyasha was complaining as she joined them.

He went silent as he saw her, his eyes suddenly filled with pain and loneliness. He quickly tore his gaze away and stared at the floor. Seth smiled at her.

“ Good choice of clothing.” He held out a skinny cylindrical object out to her. “You know how to use this right?”

She took the object from him and hit the button on the hilt, causing a long sharp blade to pop out of each end. Kyra twirled the blade in a circle. She hit the button again, retracting the blades, and hung it on her sash opposite the dagger.

“Yeah, of course.”

The group walked outside, and Seth bent down beside her.

“Come on, hop on I’ll give you a ride.”

Kyra climbed up and looked back at Alexandra who was glaring daggers at her. Kyra smiled. Aw………is the poor baby doll jealous?

her voice echoed through Kyra’s head.

Krya shivered. Could anyone possibly be any colder?

Chapter 3: Kagura

They walked into a large ornate Japanese style mansion, well after dark. The place was full with people, more people than Kyra had ever seen in her life.

“Be careful everyone,” Seth warned, “We don’t know who’s here, this place could be absolutely crawling with demons and things much worse.”

“Keh! Don’t worry Kyra, I won’t let anything hurt you.” Inuyasha boasted.

“You’re not really in a position to pick up anymore women Inuyasha. You have plenty already.” Gehn retorted matter-of-factly.

“Keh, at least I have one, pervert!” Inuyasha growled.

“And how many kisses have you gotten from her? Or for that matter this one?”

“As if it makes any difference!”

Seth sighed. “ Great, they’re at it again.”

“Aren’t they always?” Alexey asked.

Kyra sat down as they reached an empty table, Seth sank into the chair beside her and Inuyasha, after shoving Gehn out of the way sat on her other side. Alexandra glared at her from across the table her eyes holding smoldering rage.

A waitress arrived and set a large plate of food before each of them. Seth shot Gehn a warning look and his hand paused midway on its way to the woman’s butt and dropped back into his lap. Halfway through the first course Inuyasha looked around the room then shot out of his chair in obvious distress.

“Ah crap!” He cursed” She’s here.”

Kyra looked up to see what he was talking about. He was glaring at a woman wearing a wearing a red and purple kimono. She wore ear rings shaped like feathers and her hair was tied with a band decorated in the same.

“Looks like your friend is here? How nice, now why don’t you sit down before you cause trouble.” Seth replied.

“Keh! I don't do shit, she’s the one who causes all the trouble. Damn bitch can’t even follow the directions of her own creator.”

The woman sauntered up to the table looked over its occupants, and shot Inuyasha a glare.

“Well, well, well, look who it is. If it isn’t the poor little lost puppy. Still trying to find a way home Inuyasha? You might as well give up now. I doubt that bitch of yours is still around anyway, Naraku probably finished her off by now. I’m sure he had some fun with her first though.” She mocked.

Inuyasha’s claw dug into the table leaving deep gashes in the wood. Seth calmly met the woman’s stare. “You must be Kagura, can’t say I’m happy to meet you. Is there something I can do for you? If not you may leave, you are corrupting the wonderfully clean air that’s floating around this table.”

Gehn snorted. Alexey glanced at him. “What clean air?” he asked dryly.

“Hey why are you looking at me?”

“Because you’re a pervert.” Inuyasha snapped.

Alexandra glared at the three men, who quickly shut their mouths and became eerily silent.

“You know what I seek, angel. And I know you have it; I felt its power across the manor.”

Kagura said her voice competing with Alexandra’s for total lack of emotion.

“If we had the fucking necklace, I sure as hell wouldn’t give to you bitch.” Inuyasha snapped.

“ You do have the pendant, I can feel it. You have five minutes to hand it over otherwise, I will slaughter this entire room.”

She turned on her heel and disappeared into the crowded dining room. Kyra sighed. So now what were they supposed to do? If they really didn’t have the pendant then that woman was going to slaughter a bunch of innocent people.

“ So you guys are gonna stop her right?”

Seth shook his head. “No, we aren’t getting involved. We don’t know who else could be here helping her.”

Inuyasha shot up so fast his chair crashed to the floor as he rose.

“WHAT?!? You’re just going to let all the innocents die! No fucking way!”

Kyra sighed and ignored yet another oncoming cock fight. Men were a pain sometimes.

“Alexandra can you pass the salt?”

Alexandra turned her withering glare on her. “Get it yourself, bitch.”

Kyra matched her glare with an equally withering one. She gritted her teeth in effort and after a moment the salt flew to her outstretched fingers. She sprinkled some on her food and sat it back on the table.

About which time she noticed several things. One, the “cock fight” had stopped along with all other conversation; and two, everyone was watching her with looks varying from curiosity to amazement.

“What?” She snapped a bit harshly, “Its just salt.”

Gehn was the first to speak his voice barely a whisper. “Y-you’re a w-wichen.”

“Wait, what?”

Alexey rolled his eyes. “Oh grow up Gehn. You’ll have to forgive Gehn, he’s a very simple demon, hasn’t been with any women in millennia. He’s absolutely losing his mind. What he means is you’re telekinetic, you can move things with you’re mind, control objects.”

Gehn shot him a murderous glare.

“Oh you mean this junk?”

She concentrated on Gehn’s wine glass and it slowly rose off the table and floated into her waiting fingers. She lifted it to her lips and took a drink and then shivered.

“I just remembered why I don’t like wine, its nasty tasting. Anyway I’ve able to that since I was a child, for as long as I can remember really.”

She looked around to find that every male at the table was watching her like they wanted to eat her all up. She suddenly thought of CATS for “some reason” and blushed bright crimson in embarrassment over being the center of attention. When she finally did look up it was to find Alexey’s dark brown eyes gazing into hers.

She managed to give a slight nod, just small enough so that he would know she understood. A blood curdling scream echoed from the far side of the room, as Kagura rose to the room’s ceiling twin fans in her arms.

“Time’s up.”

Her arms pulled back as she whipped the fans around and down. There was a strong current of wind and something warm and soft covered her and pushed her to the ground as something ripped through the table where she had just been sitting. She looked up to find herself staring at Inuyasha’s molten amber eyes.

His touch was so warming, so comforting, and his eyes so beautiful that she couldn’t help but stare lovingly at them. A thousand emotions swirled around, a thousands thoughts shot through her mind but all she could manage was to softly gasp his name.

“Inuyasha.” She whispered softly.

In his eyes flickered confusion, he didn’t know, he couldn’t possibly know what he was doing to her. His eyes so soft and caring, so full of concern. But it was gone as quickly as it was there.

”What hell are you staring at, bitch?” he growled.

He rolled off her and pulled her to her feet. The room was ripped in two, there was giant gash that divided the room, everything, and everyone that had been along its path had been ripped into bloody shred. Inuyasha roughly shoved Kyra against Seth.

“Get out of here; I’ll take care of Kagura.”

"Inuyasha-"

No fucking way! I'm tired of this, I'm taking care of this once and for all"

Seth nodded his agreement before spreading his wings and soaring over the bloody carnage and out into the cold dark of the night.

“You bitch; you’ll pay for this Kagura.” Inuyasha snarled.

Kagura smiled. “Lets see what you’ve got dog-boy.”

Seth set her Kyra down on the manor’s balcony, and waited a moment for the others to catch up them.

“I’m going back for Inuyasha, Alexey, get them out of here.”

“Seth…”

He turned to look at the vampire. There was a loud noise and Inuyasha flew through one of the nearby windows and slammed into the balcony’s stone railing. He struggled to his feet slowly his face set in grim determination. Kagura floated out the window after him.

“You’re doing a pathetic job, I've never seen such a lousy fighter. Ready to give up yet? Stubborn as usual I see.”

“No way, I’ll kill you before I give up.”

“Let’s make things interesting shall we?”

She flipped the fan sending another wind blade shooting toward Inuyasha. The blade glanced off tetsaiga and sent the sword flying end over end out of Inuyasha’s hands and into the ground behind him, where it returned to its normal form.

Inuyasha growled in annoyance and made to break for the sword.

“What’s the poor puppy to do now?” Kagura asked mockingly. “Will he break for daddy’s sword and let his friends be chopped to bits, or will he stay where he is and try to save them. I wonder.”

Inuyasha growled but didn’t move an inch. Kyra watched in horror as Kagura pulled back her fans to release her wind blades. Her arm snapped forward, the blade hurtled toward Inuyasha standing completely defenseless right in its path.

Kyra ripped her arm from Alexey's grasp and ran for Inuyasha. She jumped in front of him and wrapped her arms tight around his waist, her face buried in his chest as tears streamed down her face. You can't die, you just can't, it's not fair, you have to go back to the one you love. As Inuyasha looked down in surprise to find her there, the starburst pendant around her neck suddenly glowed white.

There was a bright flash and a massive shock wave as a barrier met the wind blade; it shattered every window in sight and sent Kagura flying. Kagura managed to right herself and smiled smugly at Inuyasha.

“See I told you had it, Inuyasha. And don’t worry this isn’t over.”

Inuyasha stared at Kyra in amazement. “Y-You have the Angel Wings Pendant? But how is that possible.”

“There are no coincidences, Inuyasha.” Seth replied.” We rescued this girl for a reason and now we know what that reason is.”

“Fool girl, the deaths of all those people is your fault you caused that,” Alexandra sneered” we should have just let you die with them, you are so useless anyway.”

Alexey eyes glowed angry red. "Just what would you have had her do, give up the pendant? No, what we should have done fed you to that demon-"

“SILENCE” Seth roared.

Inuyasha slumped tiredly to the ground. “I bet Kagura had the Demon's Cross too. That’s the only reason why she would come after me for the Angel wings pendant.”

All the emotions of the others were swirling around her, overwhelming her. She whimpered in defeat as tears of sorrow welled in her eyes.

” I didn’t mean to I swear, I didn’t know. I wanted to stop her I really did……..”

And she dissolved into tears and her knees gave out. Seth gently caught her in his arms as she fell and lifted her up, carrying her against his chest.

“Alexey, I think I need to have a talk with her about all this. You’re in charge while I’m gone. Take the others back to the manor and wait there until I return. No one is to leave.”

Alexey nodded. “Right, I understand. You just be careful.”

"Aren't I always?"

Seth spread his wings and carried her away into the night.

They landed in a clearing in the middle of a nearby forest, the night air was crisp and clean. Seth took a deep breath, relaxing as the refreshing air filled his lungs.

“I suppose there are some things you should probably know about all of us if you are going to be in our company. It’s only fair, I know I should have told you when you first arrived.”

Seth sighed when Kyra didn’t answer. “.I’ll start with Inuyasha then, here goes. Inuyasha is a half dog-demon from an era of Japan five hundred years ago. He was sent here by his enemy, Naraku, unfortunately Kagura was beside him and got sucked into the portal that Naraku had created. They are both trapped here unless they can unite the two pendants, The Angel Wings and the Devil’s Cross in order to reopen the portal. Unfortunately being enemies, they aren’t likely to ever work together so it seems they will both be stuck here for awhile."

“ Alexey is a vampire as you already know, I trust him with my life,-as he is the most mature the group-though none of us really know his motives for being around. But helps out and that is well enough. You don’t ask questions and you won’t get the wrong answers.

“Gehn is a fallen demon lord specialized in the art of possession. He’s been helping anyone in need since he betrayed his master almost fifty years ago. Aside from his perverted and childish behavior he is more of an angel than a fallen demon lord.”

“As for Alexandria, she’s a medium with a serious attitude problem. More than once I’ve thought she’s only around to flirt, she’s not much of a help, but I just can’t seem to mangae to get rid of her.”

Kyra finally stirred, she looked up into his chocolate brown eyes and wiped the tears out of her eyes.

“What about you?” she asked.

“Uh……you don’t really want to know about me, do you?”

“ Of course I do.” She gently nuzzled his chest.” I….like you.” She whispered.

A light blush dusted his cheeks. “Alright if you say so, Gehn’s a fallen demon, and I’m a fallen angel. I believe I have redeemed myself more than enough but my superiors don’t seem to agree.”

Kyra giggled. “What do you have to do to get thrown out of heaven? You must have done something really NAUGHTY.”

Seth smiled. “Nothing like that, I just disobeyed a direct order.”

Kyra cocked her head curiously.

“Ever hear of World War II?”

“Of course,” Kyra nodded, ”Hasn’t everyone?”

“Yes well, I did that.”

Kyra stared at him. “You did-“

“No, no. Lord Gehn did that. I got the rest of the world to fight against Hitler, you see, World War II was supposed to be the end of the world, but I interfered. See Hitler was supposed to blaze through Eurasia and Africa, killing everyone before moving on to the Americas and Australia. By the end of it only Hitler’s demonic army would have been left to rule the world turned into the Lake of Fire as soon as the last human died. I manipulated events though that caused first Europe and then the United States to fight Nazi Germany. My superiors weren’t exactly what you would call pleased and I was banished.”

“So how did Gehn figure into all this?”

“Ah yes, Gehn. Gehn the master of possession had the honor of possessing Adolf Hitler himself. I’m still not sure how I did it but I convinced the Demon Lord of his own folly and he sabotaged the German war effort and left his host to fend for himself. Hitler lasted approximately a month before he went insane and commited suicide.”

“ I still don’t get how you could be removed from heaven for saving the world.”

“Nor do I. But sometimes those above us know things that we do not, things that make such decisions right. Those of us below cannot see the whole picture and so we should not make decisions based on the fragments we know.”

“What do you mean?”

“Everything happens for a reason, Kyra. But no matter what happens you should never lose faith in God. Because no matter what happens he is always with you and every trial you go through is a test to make you stronger. Always know that all the bad things that happen in this world are not his fault, it is the fault of people like Gehn once was, like Kagura is.”

“This is going somewhere?”

Seth Smiled at her impatience. “Yes this is going somewhere you brat. No matter what happens in life you must always put your faith in God. He will always show you the way out. Of that you can be sure.”

“So I guess you need the pendants too right? To get back to heaven, I mean.”

Seth nodded. Kyra suddenly became quiet. “I didn’t mean to kill all those people Seth I really didn’t. I didn’t know about the necklace, I would have given it to her if I had I swear I would have.”

Seth pulled her against his chest, let her sob against him, to feel comforted by his arms holding her close.

“Its alright, Kyra, I know you didn’t. Alexandra is wrong you couldn’t have done a thing to stop Kagura even if you had known.”

After a few moments her tears quieted and her breathing slowed as she fell into peaceful sleep. Seth sat there gazing up at the beautiful night sky, so clear out here in the wilds. He didn’t know how long he sat there staring at them, but finally she stirred and started to awake.

Kyra looked into his emerald green eyes, they were so lovely so beautiful, so perfect. No one had ever made her feel this way, no one had ever cared this much about her. She slowly leaned forward almost as if in a dream and kissed his cheek. She sighed in happiness for resting her head against his shoulder.

“Thank you.” She whispered.

Thank you for being there for me when no one else was. Thank you for caring enough to comfort me, thank you for loving me enough to care. Thank you.

She closed her eyes and drifted into sleep once more. Seth smiled at her sleeping form, her head cradled against his shoulder.

“You’re most welcome.” He whispered.

He gently picked her up in her arms and spread his wings wide. With one soft flap he was hovering off the ground, he looked around the clearing again, at its beauty and then they were on they’re silent journey home.

Chapter 4: Running Away

Kyra yawned and slowly sat up, she looked at the clock she had plugged in beside the bed, it was still late; only just barely morning. She quietly opened the door to her room and walked down the hallway. She had just stepped into the kitchen and was about to look for something to eat when a voice startled in from within the room’s shadows.

“Where are you wandering off to?” Alexey asked as he stepped into a swath of moonlight shining through one of the windows. “Well since you’re already up and moving you can come with me, I want to show you something.”

Kyra turned and silently followed his silhouette through the dark house and outside into the yard and the surrounding forest. They stopped somewhere about three hundred feet into the forest; Alexey stopped suddenly in a clearing and turned to face her.

“You need protection, and training, and since Alexandra obviously isn’t going to give you any help with either one, I will begin it. You have the pendant, it should work well enough as a shield against harm but not even a shield can protect you from everything, what you need is and offensive ability. And I think I know jus the one, it’s called the Spirit Bomb.”

Alexey stood face to face with her, his feet spread evenly in a defensive stance, his arm stretched out in front of him, the fingers splayed as if gripping something. Kyra took up position beside him and mimicked his form.

“The Spirit Bomb takes energy from the user’s environment and condenses it into a ball of energy in the user’s palm,” Alexey instructed,” The more energy you take the bigger and brighter the sphere becomes. Once it had been gathered it can then be thrown, or released with no more than a thought. There is no need to mimic Inuyasha who screams out his every attack before performing it. Now watch me closely and then it will be your turn.”

Alexey closed his eyes concentrating; his palm began to glow with power as the energy around him was sucked into a bright ball of molten blue flame. After several moments of concentration the ball had grown to the size of a tennis ball; Alexey lifted his arm high in the air and the ball shot from his palm and flew like a beacon through the night sky.

“There is one last thing you need to know, in order for this attack to work you must center in your thoughts the happiest thing you can think of. If your thoughts are disrupted or the emotion not strong enough then the energy will not collect.”

Kyra eyed him suspiciously. “And just what were you thinking of when you were gathering that energy Alexey?”

He frowned at her. “I doubt you really wish to know; besides it’s none of your business. Now go ahead and try.”

Krya sighed and mimicked the form Alexey had used; feet spread, arm straight out, fingers splayed. Now what to use as a happy thought, they all seemed way too weak to work, but after a moment she picked one. Kyra closed her eyes and concentrated on the memory of Seth; of his beautiful brown eyes, his dark hair. And his kiss, oh his kiss, the pure bliss of that touch.

She felt the warm energy begin to collect in her palm, she was doing it she was actually doing it! Seth suddenly disappeared from her minds eye though, and the cold glare of the white haired child watched her. She was useless, stupid, lazy, and better off dead. She fought off Alexandra’s intrusion tried to bring back the image of Seth of how he made her feel. But too late she could already feel the energy draining away, her hand already seemed extremely cold. She opened her eyes and slowly looked up at Alexey in disappointment.

“That was…..weak. You need to work on that some more. Maybe you need to find a better thought to focus on, or maybe you should quit worrying about what heartless bitches think of you and concentrate of what you think of you; what the people that matter to you think of you. You have the form and everything down wonderfully, you’re just going to have to learn to block your thoughts and stop worrying about what Alexandra thinks of you. Well, keep practicing I have to go before the sun comes and burns me to a cinder.”

“Hey! Kyra,” Gehn called,” What’s up? What did you and Seth do last night?”

“Nothing happened, Gehn. Now please leave me alone, I don’t feel well.”

Gehn frowned and suddenly she knew she should have just stayed quiet. “You don’t feel well? What’s wrong? Does your stomach hurt? Headache? Back pains…..PERIOD???”

“It’s none of your business!” She managed just barely to keep from yelling by clenching her teeth so hard her jaw hurt.

“Can I get you anything? Are you hungry? Medicine? I have pain killers. Advil? Do you like tomato soup? Or maybe chicken noodle, or maybe –“

“No! Just leave me alone!” She slammed the door in his face a bolted it closed.

As soon as she was sure he wasn’t going to just come through the door anyway- you never could know what demons would do- she ran for the bathroom. Her stomach had been hurting since right after Alexey had left. She felt dizzy all of a sudden and she couldn’t breath. Oh no not……She leaned over the sink and emptied the contents of her stomach. She vomited again and again, and the sink slowly started overflow. Where the hell is all this even coming from? I haven’t eaten since last night.

She pushed herself away from the sink and stumbled into the bathroom, making for the toilet. Her cramps hit her then making her stagger, she vomited again all over the floor, this time it was tinted red with blood and mostly liquid. She collapsed to the floor as cramps ripped through her, she had known they were coming it would only fit her luck with the timing her period always had. She tried to push herself back to her feet but she only got to her knees before she slipped and knocked her head on the hard marble floor, losing consciousness amid her a puddle of her own vomit and blood.

It was two days after the incident, and Kyra was feeling much better. Seth had found her lying unconscious amid her bodily liquids and quickly figured out the cause. Alexandra had set one of her spirits upon her, that’s what had caused the vomiting; both of undigested food as well as blood. Her cramps though had come from an ill-timed period, as usual. She had of course taken an extremely long and thorough bath after Seth had roused her- I mean even men didn’t like smelling like their own puke, and she was certainly no man.

She stuffed her clothes into her bag, and slung it over her shoulder before turning and walking into the entrance hall. She had decided to go back home, her friends were likely worried about her, and like Alexandra said she wasn’t really of any use here. What friends? You don’t have any friends, just ex-prep snobs looking for attention. She had offered to give the pendant to Seth so he could use it, but he had refused to take it muttering something about it wouldn’t work without her.

“Hey Gehn, do you know where Seth went? I wanted to tell him goodbye before I left.”

Gehn frowned. “He flew off somewhere right after you announced your decision to leave. He seemed….upset.”

Kyra sighed. She supposed she must have upset him with her decision to leave, but oh well, it was all for the best. She gently kissed Gehn on the cheek before turning and starting to walk towards the door.

Kyra laid in bed trying to get to sleep, it had been almost a week since she had come home from the mansion. A week since she had seen any of her new friends, her real friends and she missed them really bad. She missed touching Inuyasha’s cute little puppy ears and his volatile temper; she missed Gehn’s perverted tendencies, Alexey’s cool demeanor, and Seth’s comforting touch.

At first she had told herself that leaving was all for the best that she had only been getting in the way slowing all the other’s down, but now, now she wasn’t so sure. Kyra sat upright as she thought she heard something moving around on the roof, maybe she was just imagining it but it she could have sworn she heard it.

She was about to close her eyes and go back to sleep when the windows suddenly swung open and Seth swooped flew inside. Now she was sure she was imagining this, there was no way he could be here surely it was nothing more than an oversized bird.

Stupid bird! BIRD! Birds aren’t six feet tall with jet black hair, and eyes, and wings dark as night, dressed in a toga. AND birds CANT OPEN WINDOWS!

“Seth?” She asked incredulously. “What are you doing here?”

He smiled as she slowly rose out of bed, her clothing a little less covering than she would have liked but not so much that anyone could any bad ideas about her intentions, at least not in these times. Her shirt was a bit short, openly exposing part of her stomach, but it would have to do; it wasn’t as if she had expected any company.

Seth rushed to her picked her up off her feet, spun her around, and hugged her close to him.

“I missed you so much.” He said when he finally let her go. ”It’s been so lonely without…boring to.”

“I…I missed you too, but what are you doing here?”

“I came to see you of course.” He suddenly became sad. “ I never should have let you go, I should have told you before, I know, oh please come back with me, please.”

“Seth….?”

He brought his hand up his fingers gently caressing her cheek as he stared into her eyes, searching for the words he needed to say.

“Kyra, I…I love you, I should have told you before. I love you more than anything in the world you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in the world and I-"

It had all just come bubbling out of him, all just exploding from him pouring out of him like water from a cracked jar. If it was too much for him to contain she couldn’t understand why she didn’t seem to mind. He was still rambling on begging and explaining not seeming to realize that she was lost in him from the moment he had said he loved her.

Before she really thought about her lips covered his, and she couldn’t help but smile as he gasped in surprise, his touch was so perfect so gentle. She pulled away from him at last looking at him, wondering if it was true.

“This is a lot to take in at once you know.” She sighed. “I didn’t even think angels could, you know fall in love. So what happens once you ascend, I guess I’ll be here all alone by myself and heartbroken with loneliness. I can’t do that Seth, I can’t stand that pain.”

“I don’t want to go back, baby. I want to stay right here with, forever, No matter what.”

“Are you sure you want this?”

“Of course I am, I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”

Kyra sighed. “I love you too. Come along, I don’t wish to share you so I won’t be letting you out of my sight ever again. Suppose that means I’ll be coming back to the mansion.”

Chapter 5: Blake

Gehn grinned as Kyra walked into the entrance hall after unpacking her things.

“I’m so glad you decided to come back to see us, Kyra.”

Kyra whirled and grabbed his arm halfway to her butt. She raised and eyebrow and glared at him.

“Don’t even think about it, Gehn.”

His hand returned slowly to his side but Kyra thought she overheard him mutter something about being really close. Kyra smiled, at least Gehn hadn’t changed a bit while she had been away, if anything he had become even more perverse during her absence.

“So that’s it huh?”

Kyra turned to look at him still standing in her room. He was standing behind her against the wall shooting her an analytic stare. “What’s it?”

“Why you seemed sad that Seth was upset about you leaving, and why he ended up being able to get you to come back. You’re in love with him aren’t you?”

The last question held a slightly bitter tone that stopped Kyra from what she was doing and made her turn to glare at him.

“To be honest, that’s really none of your business, “She snapped harshly, “ Maybe if you stopped being a pervert all the time and learned some manners, maybe some girl would actually let you love her.”

The blood drained from Gehn’s face, he nodded slowly and stiffly and quickly turned and hurried from the room. Kyra sighed sadly, yeah that had been a little harsher than necessary and she could have just answered his question, but she hadn’t like his tone. It was like he didn’t approve of her being in love or something and that really wasn’t his decision to make.

Kyra looked up and smiled as she saw the most beautiful black haired, dark eyed, winged creature walk into her room. Her smile quickly dissolved however as she the small white haired medium walked in behind him.

“Kyra, I want you to take Alexandra and go scout out the surrounding forests to the south, Inuyasha caught a strange scent that made him nervous. I want to know what he smelled.”

Kyra stared at him in disbelief, he didn’t really expect her to go anywhere with that bitch did her? There was absolutely no way she was going anywhere with that stupid fucking

“So why not send Inuyasha?” She asked searching for a way out.

Seth walked slowly to her side and cupped her chin in his gentle hands, pulled her eyes up to his. “Because Inuyasha has mysteriously vanished from the face of the earth, Strange don’t you think?”

He bent down to her ear and spoke softly so only she could hear. “If she causes you any trouble you have my express permission to dispose of her deep in the woods, I am quite tired of her prescience anyway.”

Kyra led the way thorough the surrounding forests with Alexandra trailing behind her. She could feel Alexandra’s cold glare on the back of her head, it felt like she was breathing pure spite with every breath the air was so tense.

“You we don’t have to hate each other.” Kyra suggested.

“Of course we do. Or haven’t you noticed how they all gravitate and utterly serve your every wish. All I wanted was one of them to love, but you took all of them.” Her voice had a tiny bit of sadness in them.

Kyra sighed. So much for making a truce then, there’s really not much I can do about that. She suddenly whirled around to stare at the foliage behind her; she had heard something move, she knew she had.

“Jumpy aren’t you?” she sneered. “It’s just the wind, there’s nothing to worry about.” She pushed impatiently past Kyra; she got all of three feet before the ugliest creatures Kyra had ever seen burst from the forest around them.

Kyra grabbed Alexandra’s shoulder and shoved her back; she drew the double-bladed sword at her hip and hacked through the first wave of gruesome creatures.

“What the hell are those things?” Kyra demanded.

They looked like some kind of demon wolves, with glowing red eyes and long sharp spikes coming from their scale covered snake heads. Kyra glanced behind her to see Alexandra fleeing back down the path a small group of the creatures trailing her. So you’re nothing but a coward, are you Alexandra? She’ll never be able to out run them though. As if on que she tripped on a root and fell flat on her face. I want to just let her die but I really should help her. There’s only one way to do it in time, I sure hope this works.

She pushed away her hate for Alexandra and thought of how much she loved Seth instead. The warmth and comfort of his touch filled her overflowing so she could barely contain it. She brought up her arm fingers spread out.

“SPIRIT BOMB!”

A giant blood red orb shot from her palm, spun through the air and ripped the creatures apart, dissipating inches from Alexandra’s face. She stared at Kyra in amazement; she obviously hadn’t expected any help especially not from her. Kyra ignored her awed expression and turned back to the rest of the creatures. Out of nowhere one of them hurled themselves at her; she only barely managed to position her between them before it crashed into her and knocked her to the ground.

She rolled right and jumped to her feet the creature right behind her, Kyra spun and threw the dagger into its throat. The wind was starting to pick up, so much so that the creatures were hurling through the air and disappearing into hole about ten feet behind her. Behind the hold stood Gehn, the beaded rosary that usually covered his right hand ws off.

As he sucked up the last of the demon creatures he recovered the hole with the beaded rosary and sank tiredly to the ground. Inuyasha resheathed Tetsaiga , and Seth landed softly beside her.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“Yeah of course, don’t worry about it not even a scratch.”

She walked over to Gehn and sat on the ground next to him. “Hey about earlier I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to be so harsh.”

“It’s alright. You were right I shouldn’t act like that, it’s just that sometimes-“

“Bravo! Bravo! What I magnificent show! A wonderful display of skill if I do say so myself!” A bitingly sarcastic voice echoed through the forest.

The voice came from a tall dark haired man standing in a clearing twenty feet away. His long black hair was tied in a ponytail and he wore a long black trench coat.

“Still alive are you bastard?” Inuyasha growled.

“Close but not quite my beloved nemesis, My name is Jace, I am Naraku’s reincarnation. But not to worry I’m sure we’ll both end hating each other more than ever before.”

Jace suddenly turned his gaze upon Gehn’s form, still sitting on the ground. “You look strangely familiar, and I never forget a face.” He stared thoughtfully at the ex-demon lord for a moment then smiled. “Ah yes, I remember now, you’re that pitiful little wretch that I cursed for ruining my attempt to conquer the world. Still having problems making good decisions I see.” Blake laughed “But you’re better off than I thought you would be. No matter, ah Kagura did you find it?”

Kagura floated in to view riding one of her feathers. “It’s on the girl’s neck but its completely useless without her.”

“Ah, too bad. Well good news for all of you, you get to live, for now. But don’t look so downright annoyed Inuyasha, we’ll meet again quite soon I’m sure.”

Jace turned and disappeared into the sky at the head of a stream of miasma.

“He even fucking escapes like Naraku!” Inuyasha growled.

As Kyra turned to head back down the trail to the mansion, Alexandra grabbed her arm; she looked somehow different somehow upset.

“I just wanted to thank you….for saving me.”

Kyra shrugged. “It was nothing, I would have done it for anyone.”

“Well…perhaps you and I could find some way to get along after all. I think I might enjoy that.”

Kyra smiled. “Alright, but Seth is all mine. I don’t care what you do with the rest.”
