Well, what do I say about this one? Something I've noticed about horror movie sequels is that I almost always like the 2nd movie of the series better than the rest. The perfect example is Evil Dead 2. Just like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the first movie was a straight-up horror movie, very good in its own right. Then the sequel is a dark, disturbing comedy/horror that seems to go over better than the original. Then the third is not as good as the first as it returned to its horror roots. Finally, if they make more than three, they get completely ridiculous and horrible to watch.

So yeah, this is definitely my favorite movie of the series. Plus, it had Dennis Hopper (what more needs to be said?). It definitely has the ability to keep one's attention throughout the whole thing; there's never a dull moment. I recently picked up the DVD (finally!) and forgot how entertaining it truly was.

The story starts with a DJ from K-OKLA named Stretch and she's getting harassed by a couple of drunk college guys via car phone (hey, this movie was shot in 1986, that's high-tech for that time). Later that night, the boys call again and tie up her phone line, that is until Leatherface slaughters them while still on the phone. Of course Stretch has this on tape, so by request of Lefty Enright (Dennis Hopper's character) the tape gets played in an effort to lure the cannibals out. See, some of Lefty's family was killed 13 years earlier by the evil family, so he grew some balls and declared war. Oh yeah, Leatherface had a thing for Stretch. See, this movie had it all. Love, action, drama, and oh yeah a shitload of gore and revolting items.

As usual, I won't spoil this for those of you who never saw this masterpiece, this work of cinematic art. One of my most recommended movies, this one gets 4.123321 bowls of human chili out of 5.
