The secret is out: this movie sucks hard.
I had heard so many negative reviews of this movie that I was turned away from renting it. Well, again, my roommate did, and, again, I thought "what the hell."
It wasn't the acting that made it suck; it was the very script itself. In the heyday of "the climax will scare and shock you!" movies, this one took a different route. Secret Window gave obvious hints throughout to give you that "that can't happen; he/she's so innocent!" feeling. The problem is that the viewer knows the ending halfway through, and by the climax the viewer loses the sympathy. We also lose interest. Just like the suspense thrillers of our time, this is one route that should not have been taken.
"Weird" Johnny Depp and John Turturro do great jobs with what they have to work with, but nothing could save this trash. I give it 2 Mississippi Shooters out of 5.
