On a lighter note, at first I was embarrassed to even review this movie because it means I saw it. Well, I now own it (thanks Nick and Kari, you kick ass!) and couldn’t be happier. It’s one of those movies where you almost feel nerdy watching it but secretly you love it. OK, I’m a nerd, sue me.

Sylvester Stallone plays “Snaps” Provolone (now THAT’S a gangster’s name!) who makes a promise to his then-dying father to go straight and give up the life. And he does, until that promise is tested all in a day’s time. Oscar has twists and turns every few minutes and can keep even the shortest attention span glued to the TV set. With an all-star cast including Marisa Tomei, Don Ameche, Tim Curry, Chazz Palminteri, etc., the true talent is apparent. I can’t even begin to try and explain everything because it has just about everything that can be stuffed into 90 minutes.

If you’re in the mood for a light-hearted, slapstick comedy, give this one a chance. I give this 4 fiancees for Marisa Tomei out of 5. Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering who Oscar is, he’s the chauffeur.
