NOTE: I have never seen the TV show, so no comparisons will be made.

First thing, I have a confession-I didn't want to see this. No urge, no curiosity, nada. But when my roommate rented it, I figured "what the hell."

David Starsky is a by-the-book cop who tends to make an ass of himself. Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson is the polar opposite-an easygoing dirty cop. Sounds cliche (and it is), but this movie is COMIC GOLD.

You can tell the chemistry in the acting of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (they've done plenty of movies together), and ironically you can see the *cough* chemistry between Starsky and Hutch. Each scene is a wacky adventure, whether it be good guy/bad guy or an adventure into the psyches of the characters. And, of course, Snoop Dogg is Huggy Bear.

I recommend this to anyone who's not uptight, artsy, or dramatic, because this is as far as it gets from these things. This gets 3.8452 coked-out cops at a discotheque out of 5.
