Freddy Vs. Jason

Come on, you thought I wouldn't review this one? Of course it's going to happen. A little background here: one of my earliest memories is watching A Nightmare On Elm Street when I was like 5 years old. I've seen every Nightmare movie at least 5 times and every Friday the 13th at least once. And just like every other horror nut that went and saw this one, I placed my bet on who was going to win beforehand.

This movie was everything that I had hoped for.
1) It takes place in Freddy's world and in the real world.
2) The reason for the feud was established.
3) The soundtrack even fit this movie to a T.
4) Elements from both of the series were very present.
5) THE KILLINGS! And, trust me, there were a lot of them.

Although I was disappointed that Kane Hodder didn't reprise the role of Jason, I remembered that there were other Jasons before him that did just fine. So, seeing someone else don the mask and machete didn't bother me. However, it was simply great to see Robert Englund become the wrinkled toasty demon with a glove again. And, their fight did not disappoint either.

With a nice mix of everything that made these movies great (blood, slaughters, unnecessary nudity, comedy, etc. etc. etc.), the only problem was the acting, which is quite ridiculous but fits the bill of all the other movies in the series. I'll give this one 3.76 dead ravers out of 5, only due to the acting.
