Big Fish: where to begin? OK, first of all, it’s directed by Tim Burton. That speaks volumes. Screw it, let’s just get into it.

The story is an older guy has told his son all these stories all his life. The stories are very hard to believe. They range from being a big fish (hence the title) to facing a giant to robbing a bank to working for a circus to find out about the girl he’s going to marry someday. I could go on. But I won’t. So hard to explain. Brain hurting. Ouch.

Needless to say, somehow everything works together so brilliantly that the viewer gets a sense that this could all really happen. Funny at times, sad at others, it’s a very solid movie. Screw renting it, buy this mother.
