The emlpoyees at the D.A.'s Office here in Kern County get together once a year to, uh, do stuff. There's a bar-b-que, a raffle, and games and a clown-for-hire for the kids... This year, one of the D.A.'s, Steve Katz, made sure to get a live band as well.
It was held at Patriot's Park in Bakersfield... They probably played a little too loud, but that's what happens when your volunteer sound guy is a no-show. It was okay though. The people in the appartments west of the park were getting a great free show.
Once again, the guys got to eat for free. And once again a cup got passed around for the band since they weren't being paid. Of course, the prosecuters and the secretaries hadn't exactly come to see the band. That's just how it is when you aren't famous yet. They came to eat and drink and b.s. with their co-workers about lawyer stuff. But some people did approach the guys and asked them if they would be interested in playing other gigs for them or for people they knew. Next gig will be in February.
