Jim's Concert Review

I frequently go to concerts here in the Philadelphia area, either at the Trocadero, Electric Factory or TLA. Concerts in Philly are more then just a concert, they are an all out event, where the street becomes a line of unique and individual people...accept when Marilyn Manson comes. All black, some of the weirdest people I've ever seen make their way to see the almighty Goth one. This was my first Marilyn Manson concert, and I will say it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The fans come in wrapped in stockings, couples come in chained together, skinny people, fat people, pretty people, ugly people the whole family practically. Marilyn Manson puts a hell of a lot of work into his set, and his work, and whether you love him or hate him, his show is like no other. He does not kill dogs on stage, he does not cut himself anymore, but he does do some of the oddest things possible.

I saw him take his two fingers and shove them where the sun does not shine while singing "Cake and Sodomy". He rips up the bible at the podium which I find intriguing, during one of his songs he jumps into a Mechanical Dress and rides it to the top of the building. I was in awe after watching the spectacle that is Marilyn Manson. The opening of all his shows has a curtain with spotlights on it drop from the ceiling and he usually opens with the "Irresponsible Hate Anthem". I've never seen a performer put so much into a show like Marilyn Manson. There was no mosh pit, everyone pushed forward and just wanted to watch the amazing show that he puts on. The highlight of the night was when Manson sang "Lunchbox", Marilyn Manson played for about 20 minutes getting the crowd involved and giving the show of a lifetime.

I also saw Marilyn Manson headlining along with Black Sabbath at the 2001 Summer Ozzfest tour. Marilyn Manson had a few more tricks up his sleeve but I don't want to give everything away. I watched as Marilyn Manson "haters" walked around saying how interesting the show was, despite the fact that they loath the man himself. Whether Marilyn Manson's act is just that; an act, or a brilliant scheme for money, or the true soul that he believes in, I believe the show is worth more then you can believe. No monetary amount can ever be put on a Marilyn Manson concert...I encourage all of you to see him if possible.

Thanks a LOT Jim! Big Manson fan I see :D Want to e-mail Jim? Soulfly3634@aol.com
