ok I read ur article on Iconoclast.ca. I just want u to know that I listen to all different forms of music, including heavy metal, and i completely disagree that heavy metal has no artistic ability. Some heavy metal bands you can say that about but look at metallica. Metallica, who has been around for over 20 years, will be remembered for ever. So will a lot of rock musicians and blues and jazz and so on. The point is, u can not look at a whole group and say something like that because that is prejiduce, narrow-minded, and bias if u ask me. I dont like a lot of the peices of music that has been created by the early artists but I at least still appreciate the art in their work.
send me an email back and tell me why you don't think it is possible to make artistic heavy metal music.

and by the way, not all heavy metal is nostop screamers and suicide killer music. You can have great guitarists in heavy metal. heavy metal is a branch off of Hard Rock, which is a branch off of Rock. It just happens to be a very specific genre so there is no guitarist in the top 20 that does heavy metal only. The best guitarists play a variety of different genres. Just to let you know since you think you know so much about guitarists.
