Essential Links

(I keep this .html file on my hard drive and have a link ('bookmark') to it in the toolbar of my browser for easy access - no separate bookmarks required)

* The Official Site
Good (well, okay) and getting better. Maybe.

* Greasy Lake
Home to one of the major discussion
boards, but there's TONS more here to
enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

* Backstreets
Website for THE zine. If you don't have a
subscription, you're missing out. But the
website is great too. Hit it a few times a
day for up-to-the-minute information on
everything Bruce.
(well, the important stuff).

* Rich Breton's Brucelegs databases
If you don't know them, you'll want to click these
links first and and drag out all those boots you
only have a date or a title scrawled on in black
Sharpie marker.

Brucelegs by Title / Brucelegs Chronological

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Shorefire Media
John Landau's PR company, this is the place
that issues all the press releases and was
the first place you could find the two huge 'Rising'
promotional shots. Incredibly crappy design, however.
* The LiveDaily Bruce Forum
Another essential discussion board,
LiveDaily also has boards for nearly
everyone else with a recording contract.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Stone Pony London
Version 2.0 of the official site borrowed
heavily from the design of this site.
It's great looking, and has a lot of
interesting 'stuff.' It used to have more
stuff that one could enjoy offline providing
one had a burner and a T1 connection,
but that was then, this is now...and SPL
rose from the ashes with a killer discussion
board and more.
* How to Find, Save & Print Artwork
The brilliant Mr Coconuts a.k.a John Joyce
has written this easy to follow guide to finding,
saving and printing artwork for CDs that for some
reason didn't come with inserts (write to the record
company if this has happened to you - they'll want
to know).
He also has links to finding certain art you might need.
* Little Steven
If anyone could ever be called cooler than
Bruce, it could only be Steven Van Zandt.
His weekly radio show is a trip back to WNEW
in 1977 with a lot of 1968 KSAN thrown in.
* The Boots
Home of the '
Top 50' lists and everything
you could ever want to know about the
Lost Masters series. Plus lots more!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* The Max Weinberg 7 Official Homepage
a.k.a The Miami Horns, The Horns of Love, the
guys in the hats on Conan....plus Max!
* Bruce Lyrics
Pretty all-inclusive, and contains most of the cover songs.
Not updated to include The Rising tracks (yet).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* Bruce DVD Pictures
This is one incredible site! An enterprising person
took tons of video captures from every video on the
'Anthology and has them here, desktop-sized and
in fantastic quality. Nicely designed site to boot!
* RMAS
One of the first usenet discussion boards (the letters
stand for 'Rec.Artists.Musicians.Springsteen). Be
extremely careful when posting to RMAS; it's not for
the faint of heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* RockOnTV
Search for your favorite artist's upcoming telly-vision
appearances! This link should be a good start...
* Concert Info 78
Setlists, comments and reviews (links) presented in a
clean text-only format.
Click
HERE for Simon's index of Bruce stuff.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

* The FDP Fender Discussion Forum
(Don't know what the 'P' stands for) -
There
was a great thread here that discussed Bruce's technical
side, with lots of other discussion mixed in.
Even if you're don't play, this thread is a great read.
Sadly, the original thread got lost, but they've started the
topic up again.

* Bruce Springsteen, the storyteller
Transcriptions of some of Bruce's in-between song stories and such.
Far from complete, but a nifty little place to stop for a bit.

a great
Image Search section (tip - go to the Advanced

Corbis.com - This link will take you to the most recent
search results for Bruce photos registered (and for sale)
by many professional photographers. Lots are pictures
that you would see in a newspaper or website, with many
extra shots that were not used in the press.
(Tip - click on the magnifying glass icons
for larger versions of the thumbnails).

Babelfish - Okay, so what you do is, you type
something into Babelfish and click on a language
you want it translated into. The FUN part is you
then take that and translate it back into English.
(Hint - try lyrics!)
Also actually useful for translating actual stuff.
- You do not have to stick the babelfish in your ear! -
