Mike's Review
This album is straightforward, sleazy, AC/DC-inspired rock at its best. Neighbourhood Threat offers nothing new in the creativity department, and that's perfectly alright. These boys just wanted to get down and dirty and rock out. There are no ballads, just eleven songs of ballsy attitude. One thing that does deserve special mention is the great production job on this album. It has a tight, crisp sound while keeping its dirty rock edge. Producer Tony Platt knows his stuff. The album-opener, "Hey Kid," was given some promotion, including a video. "Axe To The Wax" has an AWESOME guitar riff; Angus Young (AC/DC) would be proud. "Crack Of Dawn" is not a song about the early morning. It's about "special places" on a girl named Dawn. And if you thought the sleaze couldn't be taken any further, "Baby's Like A Piano" finds a way. It's a slower, dirty blues number that features the line, "My baby's like a piano, when she ain't upright, she's grand." I remember the first time I listened to this album thinking how absolutely sleazy it was. With over 700 albums in my collection, this one is probably the sleaziest.

Mike's Picks: Hey Kid, Axe To The Wax, Baby's Like A Piano
