Who You Are (Thank You)

You are a riches amongst riches
To see You and feel Your presence
Is a warm, soothing embrace, from an Old Friend
To delight in Your work is a true celebration
And I rejoice in serving You
Your grace overflows thy cup, spilling out unto all who accept
Your mercy unending, a gentle salve to this scorching sin
The thought of You never leaving me
Is a comfort in of itself, a pillow for my weary head in need of rest
Your power unfathomable, across all space and time
All that is obeys your every command
You surround me always like the very air I breathe
You give me life, hope, freedom, passion…love
I could never imagine this life without You
This temporal place that we call “home” is bad enough
Without You I would weep endlessly in despair
Sometimes, in hard times, it may feel as if you’re gone
But You always watch over, protect me
Like the Great Shephard that You are
Always guiding, prodding, encouraging, helping
Yet my ears don’t always listen
Help me to abide by You, my God
For without You I am nothing, a simple whisper in the wind
And with You, I can be anything, be it Your will
Thank You for who You are.
