Sunken Ship

I tried to put up my sail
But the wind wasn’t forgiving
And I thought I could stand the weather
But Mother Nature has its own way of thinking
And now I am sinking and seeking a way
To keep myself from drowning

And who in the world would of thought of such a thing
To put a hole in a boat after I had left the dock
Someone had to have done it
For I’m sure it was when I sang that song

Then something…It came across the breeze whispering to me
And I wanted to ignore it
And the shot came through the dark
And I fell overboard
Yet this wasn’t the end of me

For I tried to put up my sail, as I have mentioned
But the cruel wind not ever forgiving
This weather Oh this Damned weather
And the Wrath of Mother Nature
And now I am falling and searching a way
To keep myself from leaving…myself
