Alter Image has its roots in Philadelphia in 1989 when founding members, Didi & Dave formed the band with a friend. After building an East Coast fan base through club dates and airplay on college and rock radio stations (WDRE, WMMR, WYSP, WCUR, etc...) as well as performing live on television for channel 57, UPN, and channel 10 (On the Entertainment Scene, Elohim Live and Time Out), they decided to move to the West Coast and attack the country from the other side. The band settled in San Diego. And, with the addition of a new drummer, Felicia Mihas, the band became a trio again. West Coast radio has caught the wave, and you can even hear Alter Image's music on KIOZ, or at radio sponsored showcases throughout Southern California. With the help of an agressive promotional approach, the members of Alter Image are realizing that there is a market for their musical style in the West.

Maybe the reason why their music attracts so many fans is because of the diverse experiences that the band members bring into the fold. Citing influences from New Wave / Punk, Rock, Heavy Metal and even Far-Eastern Folk, the band's creations are definitely unique.

Alter Image's music, simply put, ROCKS YOU! The blend of the solid rhythm, intriguing guitar solos and poetic lyrics gives Alter Image its strength.

The most unique thing about listening to Alter Image is placing them in a category. People have a need to classify things, yet Alter Image's diversity defies categorization. Thats why the band decided to coin their own term to describe the music. Taking a cue from the types of music they most easily identify with - New Wave and Modern Rock, Alter Image calls its music Modern-Wave Rock.
