For the survival hike all the green team took was enough food for two days, clothing, a space blanket, and protective gear. We had to build our own shelters and make a fire. That night was the coldest night during the camp. Eventually almost everyone woke up and moved over and spent the rest of the night huddling next to the fire.

3 Reasons not to use a Space Blanket:
1. They hold heat, as long as they stay on you. The slightest breeze will blow them off of you. (They must work in Space because there is no wind in space.)
2. They will make as much sound as a train with every movement, making sleeping impossible. It gets worse when you have 5 guys trying to sleep in a tiny shelter with these.
3. They would do better if you used them to microwave food in.
