For Sale: 1958 Dodge W300 Power Giant Power Wagon Pickup

Very few W300 PGPW’s left and this truck has some very unique features. This W300 workhorse has an exceptionally rare big back window and original 9’ pickup bed. Along with 19.5” tubeless Budd wheels, original Dualmatic hubs, dual factory 25 gal. saddle tanks, factory power brake booster, Spicer 70 axles with 4.89 gears, NP 420 4spd with dual pto outlets, NP 201 twin stick transfer case and a very nicely done 6 cyl Isuzu diesel conversion. This truck drives, rides and stops very well. Steering is pretty tight and truck rides real solid. Cruises at 60 mph on the speedo, but is probably more like 55 or so. The diesel wants to keep going, but I didn’t know if the gears will ! Straight sheet metal with few bumps & bruises, the 9’ bed is in very good condition with what looks to be original bed wood, spare 19.5” wheel & tire. West coast mirrors, very nice 2”x2” square tube headache rack, and similar square tube design side stake boards with end gates. Interior dash has been converted for diesel gages / switches, but original speedo, cluster gauges, light, wiper and heater switches are included. All emblems are intact, this is an original V-8 truck and has both sides “8” and “Power Wagon” fender script . Has integral turn signal option, all turn signals, head lights, tail lights, dash lights, wipers and heater all work well. Nice replacement floor mat with insulation underneath, recovered seat in good condition, recovered door panels ok, good original glove box liner, two very good visors and a very good replacement headliner (needs to be re-attached at center seam). Doors shut and latch well. Pass door lock is out but included with the keeper backing plate. Both windows roll up and down. This truck is currently titled and licensed in Washington State, tabs are good through August 2003.

Problems: Rust: passenger door is functional, but toast as far as rust is concerned. Driver’s door is in better condition, but still significant rust. Stainless steel patch panels have been added to both sides of doors that do make them solid and functional. Narrow 6” long area of some rust through holes in dash on driver’s side, due to what looks like a windshield leak at one time. Door rust has not affected door jams or rocker panels. Floors have some limited areas of surface rust and flaking, but are not rusted through and are still very solid. The entire underneath cab & frame seems to have been undercoated long ago and has preserved everything under the truck well. Cab rooftop was evidently dented and repaired at one time, as a thin layer of body filler is cracked and lifting up.

Tranny: I think the 3rd gear syncro is going out… delicate operation to get into 3rd gear when rpm’s are up. Incorrect front bumper.
