This is more than "my blood". This is the album that fills the void in Christian metal that I had had for a long time now. This is pure, un-progressive death metal. Monstrous double bass, wicked but not crazy guitar riffs, shredding rhythms, and growled vocals. It's not a perfect record though. The vocals aren't as great as I had hoped they would be; most of them are just Chad Moore's sick grinding rasps. Some pleasant vocal alterations can be found in "The Scorn Of Death's Kiss" and "Buried In", though. The disc has an abundance of melodic parts, not just brutal two-note pounding. It's been described as "criss-crossing the lines of death, black, and grind", but I'm hesitant to call any part of this album grind. I do have extremely limited experience in the field of grind though. I'd say it mixes death, black, heavy, and believe it or not alternative metal since I sometimes see hints of bands like Mudvayne or Coal Chamber. My highest praise of this album is that it finally gives us Christians an equivalent of music like Cannibal Corpse, Cradle Of Filth, Napalm Death, Mudvayne, Coal Chamber, and all those incredible but unlistenable secular bands.
