Before the release Metallica and the folks around them were safe on succsess. They didn't know how right they were. They used a lot of time in studio, and the bill were about on 1 million dollars.
The album were sold in over 15 million copies world wide, and in fact about 8000 - 10.000 americans buy it every week still!!! When it came in 1991, shops wanted to be the first to sell it, and opened 00.01 in the night. 600.000 copies were sold the first week in USA. On the following tour they had over 300 shows and visited over 37 countries. In 1994 it was still on Top 200 Billboard.
