I had the good fortune...
By Fiona S.

of seeing Hanson in performance at the Riverfest in Tulsa, OK this past weekend! It was so wonderful to see them, and totally worth the 8 hour drive from Houston with my boyfriend and the one speeding ticket (my first!) that I received on an OK highway. The heat was terrible, so it was nice of the roadies for spraying the crowd with water throughout the day. The other bands were pretty good and Admiral Twin rocked!! Everybody who came on stage before Hanson kept mentioning them and thus evoking crazed screams from all of us :)

When Hanson finally came out (they were late as usual) the crowd started pushing and shoving something terrible! It was awful. I saw one little girl and her mom starting to leave cause the little girl was getting hurt by the crowd.

I'm happy that I was able to see Hanson, though. They sounded amazing! Taylor was his eternally charismatic self, Ike was so cool on his guitar and Zac seemed to be having a great time. He laughed a lot those 30 minutes. I think their instruments kept messing up cause they had gotten wet from the spraying.

Hanson performed 7 songs: "Lonely Again", "Sure About It", "Wish that I was There", "MMMBop", "If Only" and two new songs that sounded just awesome. I can't wait for the new album!! I got some really good pics too, whoop de doo! Taylor and Zac sprayed the crowd when they were done, then they were gone. I was so excited to have seen them again!

Some lucky fans got to meet Ike, Taylor and Zac afterwards, cause they had gotten stickers from a radio station or something. I went to the Blue Rose Cafe a little while later and met three of the guys from Admiral Twin!! (Brad, Mark and the other one, but not Jarrod). It was very cool. I talked with them a little and they said they'd be playing there in a little while, so I told them that I'd come back later to catch them play. But I fell asleep at my hotel and totally missed that performance! What a bummer!

I'm looking forward to the next time I can see Hanson! I love them so much; their music touches me every time. Thanks, Hanson!
