About a Girl - Nirvana song which Dave supposivly recorded at Laundry Room Studios on a Rainy Day with Barrett Jones.

Ain't It The Life - Track number 10 on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Written by the Foo Fighters and Recorded at Studio 606 in Virginia.

All About The Benjamins [Rock Remix] - Sean "Puffy" Combs song which Dave helped to rewrite as a rock song. It appears on Puffy's Been Around the World Single. Written and Produced by Sean Combs and Dave Grohl.

Alone + Easy Target - Track number 4 on the self titled debut. Recorded by Dave Grohl at the Laundry Room Studios in Seattle, WA and produced by Barett Jones. It was later released as a promo. It was also recorded at the BBC on 11/16/95 which is a very good recording. Written by Dave Grohl

Angry Samoans, The - 80's punk rock band who did the original version of Gas Chamber. The Foo's covered this song at the 1995 BBC Session and Dave recorded it while doing the first album. See also Gas Chamber.

August Murry Theme - Track number 2 on the Touch Soundtrack. Written and Recorded by Dave Grohl.

Aurora - Track number 6 on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Written by the Foo Fighters and Recorded at Studio 606 in Virginia.

Backbeat Soundtrack - Soundtrack for the movie backbeat on which Dave plays drums on all tracks. He doesn't sing however. The backbeat band appeared once on the mtv movie awards with Dave on drums. Also in the band were Thurston Moore, Greg Dulli, Mike Mills, and Dave Pirner.

Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty song which the Foo Fighters covered at Maida Vale Studios for their 1997 BBC Session. Also appeared on Come Again a compolation of EMI Artists and various singles.

Big Me - Track number 3 on the Foo Fighters self Titled debut. Recorded by Dave Grohl at the Laundry Room Stuidos in Seattle, WA and produced by Barett Jones. Released as a single during 1996. Written by Dave Grohl. There was that "mentos" video for this song which was directed by Jesse Peretz. See also Mentos and Peretz, Jesse

Bob Lang's Studios - Recording Studio where the Foo Fighters recorded the Down in the Park Session. They recorded 5 songs, the only one that was released was down in the park which is on the X-files tv soundtrack. This session was from 1/24/96 - 1/26/96

Breakout - Track number 2 on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Written by the Foo Fighters and Recorded at Studio 606 in Virginia.

Bruce - Track number 10 off Pocketwatch Demos. It is an instrumental.

Butterflies - Unreleased song which slipped through the cracks. It was first recorded by Dave at the Laundry Room Studios for the first album but never made the cut. It was recorded again at Bob Lang's Studios with the whole band in January 1996 however they were not satisified with the outcome. The song has been played live many times, however mostly in 1995/1996. Written by Dave Grohl.

Cactus - Pixies song which Dave jammed on during the show on 2/10/98. He did the first verse and then stopped cause he didn't know anymore.

Capitol Records - The Foo Fighters major label Record company. They signed the Foo Fighters back in 1995 after they heard Dave's demo tape. The Foo Fighters left Capital Records before recording There Is Nothing Left To Lose.

Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas cover which was played live two times in July of 1997. The first time was on 7/5/97 the second on 7/18/97. Both times Dave pulled someone else on the stage to sing because he didn't know the words.

Castle, Gerald - Director of the I'll Stick Around video. Former member of Devo, that 80's supergroup:)

Chicken Derby - Early title for My Poor Brain which later appeared on The Colour and The Shape. First played on 4/3/96 in Toronto. See also My Poor Brain.

Cobain, Kurt - Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter for Nirvana. Influenced Dave's (and basically everyone elses) writing style.

Coloured Pictures of A Marigold - Track number 6 on Dave's Pocketwatch Demos. Written by Dave Grohl. See Also Marigold.

Damn You Damn Everyone - New song written during the 1998 East Coast USA Tour. It was debuted at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, RI, on 5/13/98. However it was only played once. Only time will tell if we see this song again. Written by the Foo Fighters

Dear Lover - Foo Fighters contribution to the Scream 2 soundtrack. It was recorded during The Colour and The Shape Sessions. Produced by Gil Norton. Written by Dave Grohl.

Doe, John - Lead singer from the band "X" who helped write and sing a song on the Touch Soundtrack.

Doll - First track on The Colour and The Shape. William Goldsmith plays drums on this track. Recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, WA. Produced by Gil Norton. Written by Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters.

Double Drum Intro - Also called intro. During the 1997 Tour Dave and Taylor would start off the show doing a drum off (both of them on drums) to a jam. It was quite the site, I recommend getting a video with it on it.

Down In The Park - A Gary Numan cover which was the foo fighters contribution to Songs In The Key Of X: The X-Files TV Soundtrack. Recorded at Bob Lang's Studios in January 1996.

Drive Me Wild - Vanity 6 cover song recorded live at Maida Viale Studios for the 1997 BBC Session. Also released as a b-side to various singles from The Colour and the Shape.

Dulli, Greg - Member of the Afghan Whigs who played a guitar part on X-Static. The only musician besides Dave Grohl to contribute to the Foo Fighters Self-Titled debut.

Flober - Taylor Hawkins definition of when you fuck something up you pull a flober (example when you drop your drumstick in a chorus or something) he said it on the Foo Fighters Intimate and Interactive on much music.

Foo Fighters - The name of the band, duh! Consisting of Dave Grohl (Vocals, Guitar), Nate Mendal (Bass), and Taylor Hawkins (Drums). However this was not the original lineup. The first lineup was Dave Grohl (Vocals, Guitars), Pat Smear (Guitar), William Goldsmith (Drums), and Nate Mendel (Bass). Pat was then replaced by Franz Stahl when he left the band. Then in 1999 Franz was replaced by Chris Shifflet. This term also happens to the the title of the First album on which Dave played all the drums except for one guitar part by Greg Dulli.

For All The Cows - Track 9 on the Foo Fighters Self Titled Release. Written by Dave Grohl and Produced by Barett Jones. Released as a Single.

Fraternity - Extra track added on the Aussie and Japan versions of There Is Nothing Left To Lose.

Freedom of '76 - Ween song that was covered by Foo with the lead singer of ween on 5/2/96.

Frehley, Ace - Original writer of Ozone which the band covered. The guitar player from KISS.

Friend of A Friend - Track number 3 on Dave's Pocketwatch Demos. Written and Recorded by Dave Grohl, produced by Barett Jones. This track was also rerecorded by the whole band at the 1997 BBC Session. The new version is available on Bootlegs.

Frogs, The - Band who originally wrote "Satans In The Manger". See also Satans in the manger.

Gas Chamber - Angry Samoans song which has been covered by the band many times. Dave recorded it in the intial album session, then the band recorded it at the BBC Session on 11/16/95. It has been done many times live and is always a crowd favorite. It also appears as a b-side to the Big Me Single and it was on Self Pollution Raido (Eddie Vedder).

GAS Entertainment - The Management firm for the Foo Fighters.

Generator - Track number 5 on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Written by the Foo Fighters and Recorded at Studio 606 in Virginia.

Germs, The - Pat Smear's former band which was started in the late 1970's.

Gibson - Brand of Guitars that is favoriable to Dave.

Gimmie Stitches - Track number 4 on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Written by the Foo Fighters and Recorded at Studio 606 in Virginia.

Gods Look Down - Track that Dave wrote while in Scream. Recorded and put on the Scream album "Fumble".

Godzilla Soundtrack - Soundtrack to the movie Godzilla. The Foo Fighters contributed the track A320. See also A320.

Goldsmith, William - Former drummer for the foo fighters up until March 1997. Formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate before Foo. Left the band during the recording of The Colour and The Shape. Amazing drummer!

Gondry, Michel - Director of the Everlong video.

Good Grief - Track 5 on the Foo Fighters self titled debut. Written and Recorded by Dave Grohl and produced by Barett Jones. Recorded at Laundry Room Studios in Seattle, WA.

Grohl, Dave - Lead Singer/Guitarist for the Foo Fighters. Started the band in 1994 when he recorded all the instruments for the self titled debut. Dave also directed the Monkey Wrench and My Hero videos, does this guy sleep? Guess Not! I can go on and on but you know all this stuff.

Grohl, Lisa - Dave's sister who plays bass on How I Miss You.

Jones, Barett - Producer extrodinare who worked with Dave on his Pocketwatch Demo's and the First Album. Owns half of the Laundry Room Studios, Dave owns the other half.

Journey - Favorite band of Pat Smear, wrote Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'. The Foo's covered that song two times back in 1995 with Craig from Shudder to Think on lead vocals.

Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson - Track number 5 on Dave's Pocketwatch Demos. Skeeter Thompson is the Bass player from Scream. The guy Tos in the song is now the guitar tech for the foo's.

Novoselic, Krist - Former Bassist of Nirvana with Dave. Came out on 8/29/97 and played two songs with the Foo's at Seattle's Bumbershoot festival. Puff Daddy - AKA Sean Combs. Dave collaborated with him to make "All About The Benjamins [Rock Remix]".

Purple Rain - Prince song that the Foo's have tried to play a few times. They never seem to get past the first verse. See Also Prince.

Pusher, The - The episode of the X-files that Dave made an appearence in. He was only in the scene for about 2 seconds but you can tell that it is him. See also X-Files, The Show.

Studio 606 - Recording Studio that Dave built in the basement of his house in Virginia. The Foo's recorded There Is Nothing Left To Lose here.

Silva, John - Person in charge of the management for the Foo Fighters. Runs GAS Entertainment.

Watter-Fred - Hilarious acoustic version of Wattershed done during the Rockline 1996 performance. Tells a story about going to Vancouver in the voice of Fred Schnider of the B-52's.

Ween - Band who split a single with the Foo Fighters for the new version of Walking After You. Also toured with the band awhile back.

Weenie Beenie - Track number 7 on the Foo Fighters self titled debut. Written and Recorded by Dave Grohl. Produced by Barett Jones.

Wool - Franz Stahl's former band before he was in Foo but after he was in Scream. Excellent music, you should pick it up. If you like foo you will like them.
