I couldn't stop listening to this one and just had to figure it out.  
First, tune your guitar to Open D5 (D-A-D-A-D-D). You can also play this  
song just in Dropped D, but i find it sounds better in D5.

You can get the echo percussion part at the end on your guitar by using  
delay and reverb. Just play around with this and you'll get it in no time
