MY MUSIC
Well, one of my favourite things in the whole world to do, is to play the guitar, and I also like to sing...I have been writing some music, and recording on my analog 4-track recorder, and also onto my PC, using recording software. I have two guitars that I play on - An Ibanez Ex-450 and an Ibanez Iceman guitar. Both are pretty crappy guitars!! (laugh)..but I guess they have done me well for a couple of years, although that Iceman has a lovely warm chunky sound, ideal for riffing, and also for sweet singing blues, where as the other guitar has more of a biting, metal tone to it, which is suited to more Satriani/Vai/Metallica style guitar playing.. I have played with other people in bands and stuff, and at the moment, and currently working on a band project with two of my best friends, and it is really going amazingly! - we seem to be not limiting ourselves to just playing one genre, which in some ways is strange for me - a lot of people who knew me from years back could see that my guitar style was hugely based on bands like Metallica (even though they suck now!), Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer and 80's and early 90's rock and metal. However, I seem to be hitting a phase, where I not only want the metal grind in my music, but am also appreciating styles like funk and especially blues, which really grabs my soul! I feel it is a turning back, to the music that originally got me into wanting to play guitar in the first place, like Dire Straits. I seem to find it hard to find a musical niche to fit into these days!!, but I am glad in many ways, considering how I really get frustrated at stereotyping people in any way.

I guess in all honesty, I am really tired of the creeping feeling of subtle stagnation and stifling egotism and structure in society. A lot of people will tell me that this is my perceptions. In a lot of ways, what I am trying to achieve with my music, is to break through this, and give people something to feel alive with, to feel they can be free to be as they choose, to avoid these damning corporations who pump out volumes of music that lack talent and real creativity from the heart. Anyways enough yabbering on *laughin*....there will be some more mp3's here very shortly..
