Here's Amanda's story about how she fell in love with the Goo Goo Dolls;
My name is Amanda. I am 14 years old and I am totally in love with the Goo
Goo Dolls! It all started when I rented City Of Angels. I thought the song
they wrote was amazing. But for some reason I didn't pay much attention.
Then In February of 2000 my world changed. A girl I had known for 6 years
killed herself. I was in such shock. I couldn't believe it! She was a year
older then me and I looked up to her. She was pretty, good at anything she
ever did, and she was a great dancer. I had moved away 2 yeas before, so I
had no idea that any of this had happened until my grandma told my mom that
she had done it. I was devistated. I did not know what to do. I called my
best friend, then I ran over to her house. I sat outside on the curb crying
my eyes out for 30 minutes. Then I came back home and turned on the radio.
It was then I heard 'Black Balloon'. I started listening to the words and I
thought, "what a great song" I guess it made me feel better, I don't know.
But, more and more I started getting into them. Now, they are all I ever
talk about. I listen to their CD's everyday! If it wasn't for that song at
that moment, I don't know what I would have done.
