Super Furry Animals lyrics - Hello Sunshine Hello Sunshine

(So hard to say goodbye
Meaning it today
I've said goodbye before
Leaving you alone
By the sea
So hard to say goodbye)

Hello sunshine
Come into my life (X2)

In honesty it's been a while
Since we had reason left to smile
Hello sunshine
Come into my life

I'm a minger
You're a minger too
So come on minger
I want to ming with you

In honesty it's been a while
Since we had reason left to smile
Hello sunshine
Come into my life

You're not so innocent
You're a disgrace to your country
If you fled a million miles
I'd chase you for a day
(If I could be bothered)

Hello sunshine (X5)
Come into my life

Quote (1) (Gruff):
"The voices at the beginning are a sample of Wendy & Bonnie. There's a sense of loss in the sample, a sense of longing. I suppose it's a courting ballad with a 'been so down looks like up to me' mentality. It's easy to wallow in misery, it's the most comfortable place to be. But it's always worth trying to get out of it."
Quote (2) (Guto):
"The start is a Wendy & Bonnie sample which we just liked and fitted the mood of the piece."
Quote (3) (Gruff):
"We looked for a woman who could sound like Wendy to sing it with me but I had to do it alone. But when we played in San Francisco the real Wendy sang with us."

Notes:
The album version of this track opens with a sample 'By The Sea' taken from country duo Delaney & Bonnie's 1971 album 'Genesis'. These lyrics (in brackets) are not on the single version. Please note that the Freiband remix of this song on the Phantom Phorce L.P. is longer than on the DVD, featuring extensive squelching and other random sounds. It's almost a hidden track on the album but I've decided to note it here as an extension of this remix, rather than as a whole new song. Also the band rejected overtures from Coca Cola in 2005 who wanted to pay £1 million to use this song on an advert!
