PETER CRISS




George Peter Crisscoula was born December 20, 1945 in Brooklyn, Ny. Peter is the oldest of five children. His parents owned an antique store in Brooklyn. His first attempt at being a musician occured at the age of 13 when he formed a street-corner doo-wop group called the Stars. He would pick up the drums around that age when his father gave him an old Army marching band snare drum. He took lessons from the legendary jazz drummer Gene Krupa. He instilled these techniques into his drum playing. Peter is the only KISS member to have released professional recordings prior to his stint in KISS. His Band Chelsea signed a two record deal with Decca records in 1969. He formed a band named LIPS in 1971. Paul and Gene discovered Peter though his ad which said,"Drummer willing to do anything to make it." Peter was in. He played drums for KISS from 1972-1980. He left the band because he had grown tired of the rock star lifestyle. He went on to release two solo albums after leaving KISS. He formed many bands during this time period as well. Peter rejoined KISS in 1996 for the hugely successful reunion tour. Peter is now married to GiGi Criss. This is Peter's third marriage. He has one daughter Jenilee(18)by his second wife, Debra Svensk. Peter continues to play drums for KISS today.
