| Forming back in November 1998 consisting of Konakov on vocals & guitar and McDermott on drums O.U.D instantly gelled, well at least Pete and John did. The bass player was Richard Hurst who left the band to pursue a real career whilst other guitarist Joe Kazacos couldn't be bothered driving an hour or so to get to practice. Downsized in personel they decided to bring in a friend of Pete's called Spy "The Don" Samios on bass. For the two months he was in the band they had jammed out about 100 songs and kept none of them. They just jammed, had little or no direction which eventually led to The Don being barred from the band.Enter the magnificent Randy Serrano on bass and O.U.D is firing again. As it turned out Randy turned out to be a much better drummer than a bass player which led to the switching of him to drums and John to bass. John was happy because it gave him a reason to jump around. Still yet to be comfortable with the line up O.U.D added Tony Dracou (former Element guitarist) to phatten things up. This was the birth of the first proper O.U.D. Tony lasted about four months until he left because of work commitments. Down one man again and almost down for good.Semptember 1999 and O.U.D was ( can't think of a better word ) fucked. Tony was the mature one in the band and always tried to have some sort of order during practice. Pete started to get agitated with the fact that they were yet to play their first gig and contemplated ending O.U.D all together until one starry night a scruffy haired dude called Ashley came to practice. Ashley being the bass player they were always looking for prompted Macca's shift to guitar, his favourite position in the band so far. Since that night O.U.D has been cranking out the phattest shit to date. This is the FINAL line up.noteable mentions; DJ Ners (lasted about a week but he's in a photo)Shawn (lasted about 3 weeks on guitar after Tony left)Mark McDonald (lasted 1 whole week on bass before Ashley came along) |
| With influences ranging from Faith No More to Primus, Deftones, Tool, Guttermouth, Stone Temple Pilots and Rage Against The Machine you can pretty much expect a PHAT and PHUNKY rock sound from O.U.D. Melodic vocals, to phsycho rants, to rap and just all out agression. Teenage Sores is just huge, groove laden beat and bass, big guitar and melodic vocal, Down In My Army with it's crazy mood changes and psycho rap, Fake Friend with it's Funky licks and Phat beat and Picture is just a beautiful pop rock song that everybody will fall in love with. There are a lot of admirable qualities in O.U.D and it is just a matter of time before everybody finds those qualities. |
