Before it All Started on the Day

This photo shows the first thing that was erected at the pa and where our entertainment was held.It would be an appropriate time to thank some people that helped to make the day a great success.

This structure was made by Joe Matehaere, Perry Hakaraia, Witana Kamariera, Sean Ogden and many others and as you may appreciated looked excellent. I would aslo like to recognise the efforts of Minnie who missed the Kaifest and had to go to hospital, Aroha Cook, Dolly Miratana, Leisha Miratana, George Patena, Winata and Fiona Kamariera, Te Kera Raika, Glen Cook. I apologise for missing others who organised the day. Our thanks also go to the partners of these ones that have to look after the families

On the day the whanau come together in the cookhouse with Whena, Philip, Stacey, Lloyd, Robert, John, Errol, Gilbert, and Hoko

Our aunties who tirelessly worked in the kitchen preparing food and helping out.

Our thanks also go to the Maori wardens Don Tamihana and Robert who controlled all the traffic, the Police commented that it was well run by our wardens.

To all of the whanau who contributed with time, and goods and supported this kaupapa you all made this a day to remember.
