This site was created in 2000. I have always considered Teena Marie as the best white r&b artist i have ever heard.The name of this site came to me from her album "IVORY". I wanted a title for this website that said it all, so i simply took her name & the album title and followed up with "queen of soul", and alas the name of this site was created.

Over the years i have noticed people refering to Teena Marie as the

"IVORY QUEEN OF SOUL".

Teena Marie as you are all aware adopted the title personally herself.

After her death i become aware from an interview i heard where Teena refered to being called the "ivory queen of soul" by a local reporter and people in her neighbourhood called her that,way back in 1990 and she liked it.I did not know about this till after her death.I truly believe this website played a massive role in bringing that title to the internet and out of her neighbourhood and to the the world, and this makes me very proud indeed

Teena Marie( Marie Christine Brockert)was taken from us much too soon at the young age of just 54 years old.Words cannot express the sadness we her fans feel at her loss.She was an insperation to millions who loved her music. I had the pleasure of meeting her on both her visits to the uk , memories that will live with me for ever. She inspired me as a song writer, and as a person ,she had the highest values and lived her life accordingly. This website will live on forever in her name and she will always be alive here.
