PAT SHANAHAN:
Of the SLSC, Pat from Tipperary was one of the first mod/scooterists in the region and was an avowed fan of the large bore 2-stroke Vespa. He travelled to
major runs in the UK in 83 and 84 including Southport 83 and Morecambe 84 establishing strong links with a Liverpool club or 2. (Morecambe was with JOB
and 'Drew a mod from Cork, where Pat survived the north-south riot in the Pavilion at the end of the Allnighter there unscathed. As the story goes O'Brien
suffered a glass splinter embedded in his arse, and a poor Liverpool lass was badly cut. There were piles of tables and chairs all over the place at the end of
it) Pat moved on to even larger bore 4-strokes and was seen on a CX500 for a long while. With time Pat pursued adventure travelling the length of Africa at
least some of the way in a special purpose all-terrain vehicle of some sort. Last we heard Pat is married and living in Leeds. .
