The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII have combined turbo-charged engines with four-wheel drive and light weight to produce stunning drives. Their vast ability is matched only by their sheer accessibility. By 1996 the Evo was into its fifth generation, such is the pace of progress in rallying.
Based on the latest Lancer body, its aerodynamics are improved along with a hike in power, 276bhp at 6500rpm. An Active Yaw System is included along with 16-inch wheels and uprated brakes to ensure great handling. Suspension is a MacPherson strut assembly at the front with a multi-link arrangement at the back. Top speed is 150mph. Brakes are by Brembo using vented discs front and rear.
The Evo remains a favourite with tuning experts thanks to its easily tuned engine and chassis that can easily cope with more power than standard.
