Continuing with our theme of bipolar children this week, I just wanted to remind you that on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 eastern time, Firesong hosts chat for people who have both BP and ADD/ADHD in the household. This could be a bipolar parent with ADD children, an adult with both BP and ADD, or someone with a BP + ADD/ADHD child - any combination.

ADD AND BP TOGETHER
At the Ohadi Conference, Dr. Papolos revealed that more than 90% of children with early onset BP also have ADD or ADHD. Not surprising then that many adults do, too. LBM32 writes: "... for any of you [who] experience both ADD and BP, do you have any stories or suggestions or advice of how I could manage my ADD and BP better?" The thread goes on to discuss many issues about BP and ADD/ADHD.

SON IS BP, OCD, ODD
"My son is ocd, odd and bipolar. His therapist recommended the 123 magic for his behavior. I need some feedback on how it's worked for others. He seems ok at home but school is a whole 'nother issue. He's on adderall, depakote and paxil." Suzanne

SEIZURES IN CHILDREN
From the Pediatrics Guide: Seizures are commonly known as a symptom of epilepsy but are also seen in many other conditions, and can even be triggered by high fevers in children.

SSDI & YOU: Chapter II
This week one of our regular chatters was distraught over being turned down for disability. Here is an article from the Disabilities Guide: More from the insider's point of view on the ins and outs of successfully filing a claim for Social Security Disability Insurance, including tips on avoiding delays.
