The average review of Madonna's new LP American Life will start off with a comment on the title track's withdrawn video. The 'review' will go on to discuss the Guy Ritchie directed movie Swept Away's "crash and burn" at the box office, off course not forgetting a few questions about what or where Madonna's actual residence is. All of this will happen with the notion that the piece of writing is a critique of a compilation of songs. Maybe it's Madonna's 'x-factor', her uncanny ability (intentional or non-intentional, who knows?) to distract the listener from the actual music and make the media discuss and then go on to complain about her latest controversy.
