Between July 6 and July 20, 2001, Professor Bashiri delivered a series of 5 lectures in a seminar sponsored by the Soros Foundation in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The lectures were attended by faculty and students of the Slavonic University as well as by other individuals interested in the social and political dynamics of present-day Tajikistan.
