a gutty 91-87 win over the Heat, but victories by the Bucks
and Magic ended Washington's playoff
hopes on Friday night. Michael Jordan
led the way for the Wizards, scoring 25
points in 40 minutes, while Christian
Laettner chipped in with 13 points,

fought a close one Tuesday night at
MCI Center but Washington fell behind
in the final minutes,
losing 87-83 to
the Celtics. Michael Jordan led the
Wizards with 21 points and 10
rebounds while Kwame Brown and
Jerry Stackhouse added 17 and 16
points respectively. The loss dropped
the Wizards two and a half games
behind Milwaukee for the eighth spot in
the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards kept the pressure
on the Bucks for the eighth and final playoff spot in
the East on Tuesday,
topping the Cavs 100-91
in Cleveland. Michael Jordan led the way once
again, scoring a game-high 26 points and grabbing 10
rebounds for Washington, which moved to within just 1½
games of idle Milwaukee. Jerry Stackhouse and Tyronn Lue
had 18 points apiece for the Wizards, who face the
Celtics on Wednesday.
