Time of Remembrance

Requiem In Memoria

The darkness in the sky,

Still enveloping my eye,

I hear, I rush, I see,

Not willing to believe it will be,

I see the form lying there,

Falling from who knows where,

The minutes stand still,

Then they flee by,

For good or ill,

I await another sigh,

Embrace of warmth,

Cold winter around,

But a sigh whisper forth,

Lying impaled on the ground.

Sitting by with comfort in hand,

Listen to whispers but cannot stand,

The struggle undone,

I hear the last one,

My hand still comforts the depart,

Though sorrow encompasses my heart.

I remain as I stand,

The remembered touch in my hand,

I climb to heightened ground,

And as I look around,

I see the clouds in the sky,

The sun's beams on the horizon do pry,

The snow and clouds encasing the air,

Shrouding the morning's glare,

The scene is blue though shimmering slight,

A blue dawn approaching from the depths of night.

Foundation in vision

The sounds around us abound,

Music to our ears,

Sometimes painful, sometimes joyful,

Always with a hint of what we wish,

Filtered through another's mind,

Diluted of substance, yet substance added in,

The sounds crystal clear,

Yet haunting, for they remain a mystery,

A portal to that of our souls.
