For a Rohirrim, the reason life is enjoyable lies in thundering hooves, flowing manes, strong wills, and hearts that give you all: The horse.
I am a Rohirrim, and horses are my life. Below are my six equines, all of which I cherish. They thrive in the green fields of Rohan, where they were born, and where they live and serve.
Rentaur: "Made Mighty" (Sindarin tongue)
Rentaur was my first horse. I have owned him since he was a spindly foal, but he has matured into a strong and magnificent stallion: bold in battle and yet graceful in Dressage. He is a Friesian, nine years of age, and stands 16.2 hands high--he is my principle mount.
Mormeleth: "Black Love" (Sindarin tongue)
Mormeleth is a sweet and kind mare. She is gentle in every way, yet still bold in the face of difficulty. Of Friesian breeding as well, she stands 15.3 hands high and is 8 years old.
Gwilith: "breeze" (Sindarin tongue)
Gwilith is a seven year old Andalusian mare. She is delicate and sensitive, and her gaits are best described through her name: smooth as air, and soft as a gentle breeze. She is a horse of kings, as elegant as one would desire. She stands 15.1 hands high.
Berennor: "Bold Run" (Sindarin tongue)
Berennor is a strong and spirited 3 year old stallion. He is a Warmblood, and lives quite eagerly up to his name--he will run boldly through anything, whether commanded to or not. This characteristic will make him an ideal battle horse, once his spirited nature is curved into positive energy. He stands 16.3 hands right now, and is still growing.
Brin: "Moon Dust" (Sindarin tongue)
Brin is a magnificent 3 year old Friesian/Paint cross. He is the son of Mormeleth and Moonspot, a stallion at SSTC. He is very athletic and brave, but has the quietest temperament and is very affectionate. He takes everything in stride. Currently he is being trained by Starfire.
Emlyn: "Flatterer"(Welsh tongue)
Emlyn came to Moonlight a walking skeleton, bearing sores not deserved and treading on dry and cracked hooves. She was acquired from a traveler who had purchased her in her state of illness, and could not continue on his journey with her. I adopted her from Moonlight, and with much feeding and love, she has completely recovered. She bears a royal brand on her back right quarter, a symbol of high lineage, and her breeding is guessed to be Trakehner. She is around the age of 9, and stands 16.1 hands. Very affectionate, she is a flatterer, with kisses for all and her quiet loving attitude.
