The average price of a home in my area (northern NJ) is over $300,000 for a starter home. This is squeezing my family and I out of the market. Without a downpayment, we can only qualify for a small amount. We have tried to get a loan with many lenders who tell us "you need 20% down." The problem is we do not have any money to put down. Right now we are living in a tiny apartment and really don't want to move into a bigger rental. The dream of my family is to own a home. What we are asking for is donations for our downpayment from anyone who can afford it. If you are an investor and would like to buy a house and lease it with the option to buy, we would be interested in hearing from you as well. Every little bit will count.
