She is a Marduk emualtor((priestess)). As a priestess, she sings for the soliders in battle. However, what she sings is about death, and malice that drives them into battle. However, her ship gets attacked and is taken into Earth by a reporter by the name of Hibiki Kanzaki. There she finds life without war and strife. Ishtar then finds that life on Earth isn't so bad. Then she tries to change the way of her own people with help of the Aluse aka The Macross. In the end, she becomes an ambassador for the people of Marduk.
