Chapter 24
Impatiently Hannah gripped on to Nick’s arm. “I’m so excited to meet everyone!” They had just arrived at the resort in the Bahamas where Nick, and the other Backstreet members, would focus on writing songs for their upcoming album. Hannah didn’t care much about the work aspects, but she wanted to meet his good friends and their fiancées. Nick asked Brian and Kevin to bring Kristen and Leighanne along. Hannah would have a lot of time without Nick, and it would give her a great chance to bond with the other two...and ultimately make some friends of her own.
Hannah hadn’t spoken to her mother since that night she left the house. Everyday she spent with Nick preparing for their trip, and every night she spent wrapped in his arms. The warm breeze blew on her face. The resort was extremely beautiful. Lush greens and bright flowers everywhere, a tropical paradise. Inside Nick was greeted by the owner and he personally led the two to their room.
“We have the ultimate security arranged for you and your girlfriend. Oh and the other men too. So there should be no unwanted interruptions.” The pint-sized man showed them the bathroom, sitting area, bedroom, and closet space...the whole suit. Nick gave him a generous tip, “Thank you sir, enjoy your stay,” and he shut the door behind him.
Hannah turned and ran into the other room. She flew herself on the giant bed, “This is so awesome!”
Nick climbed on top of her and led them into a kiss. The wind blew through the courtyard doors over them as they’re hands fan over one another. “Come on, let’s meet the others. We’ll have plenty of time for this later,” Nick hesitantly broke away.
Nick and Hannah made their way through paths lined with palm trees until they reached the private studio that had been set up for boys. Inside Nick spotted his four band mates, “Yoo hoo.”
“Nicky! Dude it’s about time you got here,” a shorter brown-haired man, who Hannah knew as Brian, said. The two hugged and Nick greeted the others.
“Psst, Hannah come over here...” he called to her. “This guys, Leighanne and Kristen too, is Hannah.” AJ whistled at her. “Down bone!” Nick cautioned, “Where’s Amanda anyway?”
“She couldn’t come, had to work.”
All the other guys openly introduced themselves and Leighanne immediately engaged Hannah in a conversation. “Sooo, you’re the girl whose managed to catch Nick’s heart.”
“I guess that’s one way of putting it,” Hannah smiled. “And you’re...Brian’s fiancée right?”
“Sure am,” she answered holding up her hand with the engagement ring.
Hannah gasped, “That’s stunning!”
“Thankfully I fell in love with a guy with excellent taste,’” Leighanne giggled. As Nick talked with the others coming up with song ideas, Hannah sat with Leighanne and Kristen. “So ladies, what are we gonna to do while America’s sweethearts are busy at work?” Leighanne asked.
“I don’t know about you two, but I’m definitely looking to get a Caribbean tan,” Kristen proposed making the other two laugh. The three planned shopping trips, days on the beach, and a whole list of girls’ day out activities.
Nick watched Hannah as she got to know the other girls. The other two were both sporting diamond rocks on their fingers, but it brought him great joy to see Hannah’s gold bracelet caught in the sunlight. He retuned to the conversation with the guys, “All I know is I want to write a song about a guy completely wrapped up in his girlfriend. I’m getting tired of all that ‘I wanna be with you’ or ‘Come back to me’ stuff.”
