THis little page is for the first female monster, The Bride of Frankenstein. I really don't know why I am so fasinated by her, other than it's like this: If boys are fasinated by Frankenstein, then with me being a girl, I am interested with His Bride. I have never gotten to see the movie, only clips and story lines, but it is one of the classics. Most of the old monster movies I think I have seen, but I was born in the 80's, so they were in the background on Saturday afternoon cable TV while my parents watched. She hisses, screams, and wears a white lab coat. Black hair standing straight up with white "lightning" streaks in it. In one clip she is slowly stumbling during her first few moments of life, the next, she is hissing.
This Halloween I got the doll that Universal Studios released, my parents bought it for me. It is very cool, very beautiful, and scary as well. Here is a cool part written on the back of the doll's box: "Dr. Frankenstein and his insane collegue, Dr. Praetorius, create a mate that turns out to be another monsterosity, magnificently played by English actress, Elsa Lanchester. But this bride, preseted in the laboratory to the sounds of church bells pealing in the background, has the undenieable look of a woman awoken from the dead."
~hisssssssssssssssssss~
The way the plot goes, it turns out that Frankenstein didn't die like people thought he had in the first one. So, in this movie he starts to get lonely and wants a mate.
Dr. Frankenstein decides to make him a woman friend. So, he sends someone out to steal the heart of a young woman, uses it, and with the usual lightening stuff, SHE'S ALIVE!
But, she does not seem to go for Frankenstein at all (I think that's sad) even though he approaches her like a friend. So, The Monster has everyone leave but him and his bride and pulls the lever that destroys the tower. As he pulls it, she hisses, and a tear rolls down his face. ): They, as The Monster put it, belong with the dead. And, it ends happy, supposedly.I wish they had fallen in love and had a wedding. Probably sounds twisted. (: But it would have been interesting. Oh well, I didn't write the script, and it would probably have been bad. Check the link below for a GREAT movie line with all the posters and script parts as well. The Classic Monsters Webring, which is top!And the Monster Maniacs zine which I just found and is ESSENTIAL to classic horror movie fans! Happy Halloween! SHE LIVES! hehehehehehehe. (;
