New REF Weapons & Equipment

Over the course of 5 years on Rifts Earth, the REF has developed new infantry weapons and equipment. From Artilley Particle Beam Cannons, Rapid Fire Lasers, and SRM Launchers, to Infantry Plasma Cannons & Ion Pistols.

NOTE: The Gallant 1000, Gallant H-95, Mark IX "Parasite", Revised CVR-3, and CVR-4 are not my work, but are listed here as they are mainstream in the REF Weaponry on Rifts Earth.

Artillery Weaponry

It's frequently necessary for the REF to Establish an immediate secured area in enemy territory wheter it is securing of a landing or EVAC zone, establishment of an emergency post, or reinforcement of a critical position. There is not always to time to airlift an entire destroid squad, Veritechs and Cyclones may be awatm engaged in combat or holding a defensive line. To solve this problem, the Robotech scientists have created infantry cannons, lasers, and missile launchers that can be operated by a single to two people. They have converted the PBC-FW Field Mecha cannon to a scaled down human sized, the RFL-100 to a much more powerful Laser Machinegun, and the RL-2 Super Rocket Cannon to a SRM Launcher. The Particle Beam Cannon & Laser requires 1 person to carry it, but the SRM Launcher requires 2 people, one to carry the launcher & one to carry the missiles. It takes three melee actions to put these weapons togther; triple for those not familiar with the weapon. The weapons are used as a mobile perimeter defense weapon for bases, outposts, adn cities. The weapons are rarely assigned to partols. Power Requirements: 2 Protoculture Cells NOTE: Protoculture emissions can be detect by Invid Sensors!


IFW-2 Infantry Field Beam Cannon: This weapon is disassembled for transport into three parts, the cannon, it's mount/tripod, and energy cell (holds two protoculture cells).
Weight: 40lbs
Primary Purpose: Perimeter Defense & Troop Support
Secondary Purpose: Anti-Armor & Assault
Range: 1 mile
Mega-Damage: 2d4x10+20 M.D. per blast
Rate of Fire: Can only fire once every 60 seconds (4 melee rounds)
Payload: Effectively unlimited (1000 blasts)

RFL-FW Laser Machinegun: This weapon is disassembled just the same as the PBC-FW-2. Only this weapon, instead of resembling a big rotatable cannon, looks more like the old Pillbox Machineguns.
Weight: 36lbs
Primary Purpose: Anti-Infantry & Perimeter Defense
Secondary Purpose: Assault
Range: 4000ft
Mega-Damage: 4d6 M.D. per single shot (see revised burst rules in my House Rules section).
Rate of Fire: Machinegun Rules
Payload: 1,000 single blasts.


Infantry Weapons

These new weapons are for use of the Infantry Divisions of the REF. These weapons usually are not assigned to Veritech, Destroid, or Zentraedi Pilots, and are rarely used by the Cyclones as they usually don't need these kind of weapons.


IEP-12 Plasma Cannon: The REF originally had never developed any type of plasma weapon, but by reverse engineering Invid Pulse Plasma Weapons & CS Plasma Rifles, they were able to make the IEP-12 Plasma Cannon. This weapon is very heavy, the person with a P.S. less than 20 must brace themself in a crouching position to fire, or the person falls back 3ft from the recoil.

Payload: 10 shots per e-canister.
Black Market Cost: 45,000 credits. Poor availability.


ID-10 Destablizer Rifle: After realizing the constant terror of creatures protected by both magical and technological energy barriers, the REF created a new type of energy weapon, based upon the widely successful EU-12, EU-13, and EU-XX series of Veritech Energy Pods. The rifle is not as absolute as the Destablizer series of Mecha Gunpods, but is still extremely effective against forcefields of any kind.
Weight: 12lbs.
Range: 2,000ft
Mega-Damage: 4d6 M.D. By drawing in a larger quantity of energy, the shot will do TRIPLE DAMAGE(!) against all force fields; magic, mutant, psionic, or technological. Damage over the M.D.C. of the field does not pass over.
Rate of Fire: Aimed shots only.
Payload: 30 normal shots or 10 destablizer shots (count as 3 normal shots) per long protoculture e-clip.
Black Market Cost: NOT AVAILABLE! TOP SECRET! This weapon is not commonly issued, their is usually one sharp-shooter among each squad that this gun is assigned to, for the purposes of quickly knocking out any enemy force-fields.

IEP-50 Particle Beam Rifle: This weapon is a smaller version of the old EP-37 Beam Cannon in a Particle Beam Rifle. It's about 3/4 the size of the EP-37.

Range: 4000ft
Mega-Damage: 1d4x10 M.D. per blast
Rate of Fire: Aimed shots only
Payload: 18 shots per e-clip.
Black Market Cost: 50,000 credits. Poor availability.

IGU-16 Assault Rifle: A cheap weapon designed to use the same high explosive rounds as the Badger SMG and the Weasel Pistol. It uses a frame identical to the original M-16 assault rifles, but is made with M.D. materials, making it sturdy, and pretty reliable in the field, it comes with with a silencer option aswell.
Weight: 8lbs, thirty-round clips weigh 2lbs.
Range: 1,200ft
Mega-Damage: 1d4 M.D. per round.
Rate of Fire: Single shot, triple burst, or full auto (see revised burst rules in my House Rules section).
Payload: Standard banana clip holds 30 rounds. Can also use a special side-mounted spiral drum holding 90-rounds, but the gun suffers a -1 to strike.
Black Market Cost: 25,000 credits. Cost for a box of 100 high-explosive rounds is 400 credits. Great availability.

IP-10 Ion Blaster Pistol: The Robotech Scientist have upgraded the old ASC Ion Pistol into something with a greater payload and range, but damage has been toned down.

Black Market Cost: 25,000 for the blaster. Fair availability.
