REF Rifts Earth Destroid Pilot O.C.C.

On Rifts Earth, the Destroid Pilot is usually called upon either for fire support or for defensive duty. There are occasions that the Destroid Pilot will be called upon for heavy ground assault, however. Whether piloting the lumbering giants of the RDF, the smaller, faster REF models, or the new breed of juggernauts designed on Rifts Earth, these characters will be piloting some of the most powerful weapons ever to walk the face of this or any other earth. Each Destroid packs more firepower than a pre-Rifts tank division. The REF Destroid Pilot is more of a specialist than his RDF counterpart. Only the Destroid Pilot is trained in the use of all Destroids, as well as the basic knowledge needed to pilot the non-transformable robot vehicles of Rifts Earth should the need arise.

In addition to the O.C.C. skills listed, with bonuses in parentheses, the player can select additional skills as listed below.

Attribute Requirements: IQ 7; a high PP is preferred, but not required

O.C.C. Skills:

* Select three specific types and models of Destroids from any REF or RDF Destroids, except Zentraedi types. The latter can be selected, but as an “other” skill selection. The pilot can operate these three specific Destroids with maximum efficiency and maximum combat bonuses. All others are at the Basic training level.

** Hand to Hand Expert can be changed to Martial Arts at the cost of one “other” skill.

O.C.C. Related Skills: Select sixteen (16) other skills, plus two additional at levels three and six, and one at level eleven. All new skills start at level one proficiency.

Standard Equipment: Destroid of choice in top condition with weapon systems fully loaded. A VR-135 Cyclone is in the storage compartment for use in ground combat and as a survival suit should the mecha be disabled. The pilot wears CVR-4 body armor. Other items include the Gallant H-95 as the standard sidearm, with the Gallant H-90 serving as an optional replacement, 4 extra H-95 or H-90 E-Clips, canteen (4 pints), food rations for two weeks, first-aid kit, extra uniform, 3 signal flares, a survival knife, binoculars, and flashlight. Also available are a toolkit, work overalls, six to twelve cobalt limpet mines, and 200ft. of nylon rope.

Authorized Clearance Upon Assignment: Additional or special energy weapons, grenades, explosives, equipment, aircraft, and mecha.

Monthly Wages: 2000 credits for enlisted men at levels 1-5, 2800 for levels 6 and up, while high ranking officers make 3400 to 4200 credits per month.
