ah, the luck of pixie.
here's the full story
First match: Blue Meanie and Bob Holly vs Edge and Christian (with Gangrel)
it was REALLY great to see Blue Meanie in action and kicking ass. My roommate FINALLY believes me after all this time of me saying, "trust me, that guy can work a match!" All four put on a good match that beat just about everything on Heat tonight. As I said, Gangrel spit his drink on the crowd, and you know, it looks more authentic in person than it does on tv. I kept thinking my arms were cut up. Anyway, Brood gets the win, but Meanie gets a lot of cheers when he's leaving the ring.
Goldust vs Al Snow
this was the highlight of the night- solid work from both of these guys. A bit of mic work during the match, a few head comments, the works. In the beginning of the match, Al Snow came over and into the crowd to talk to a child in a wheelchair. I thought that was incredibly cool, and have a new respect for the man. (BTW, that kid rocked- he was maybe 8 or 9, and he was talking to me... he asked me who my favourite wrestler was, and I told him "Road Dogg," and he did the intro for me. Very cute.)
Al Snow got the win, and then Goldust set him up for Shattered Dreams and landed it. Al then had a fight with Head in the ring, did some moves on it, and all in all, was incredibly entertaining.
Owen Hart/Jeff Jarrett vs Godfather and Val Venis
Funny story: The hos were given some money by the ringside fans. Godfather then demanded they give him the $$, which he pocketed. It was really pretty clever. Owen/Jeff win the match, Shamrock comes out. etc, etc.
Ken Shamrock vs Dan Severn vs Steve Blackman (Intercontinental match)
not the most exciting match on the face of the earth... but solid wrestling all around. Shamrock wins, of course, and Val makes an appearence.
New Age Outlaws and XPac vs Acolytes and Undertaker (with Midian)
Road Dogg barely wrestled the beginning of the match. XPac did most of the wrestling, then Billy, then XPac some more. Acolytes were looking sloppy, Undertaker was looking pretty good, I must say. When Road Dogg got in the ring, Bradshaw threw him into the ropes- the rope gave away and he fell out hard, and at an awkward angle. Everyone in the ring looked shocked, Bradshaw helped him in and sort of hovered over him while everyone else brawled to stall and cover. Finally, the ref called for the bell, and Acolytes/UT won. There was a long wait for the medics/stretcher to come out and it didn't look good. Road Dogg was talking, but not moving. Like I said, it looked pretty bad.
intermission. went to buy tickets for next show. Bad seats only available. Nevermind.
Unfortunately, I missed Hardy Boys/Jackie vs D'Lo/Mark Henry/Luna. Which, of course, annoys me greatly. Hardys/Jackie won, though, according to the person sitting next to me.
HHH vs Kane (with Chyna)
Solid match, good stuff. Chyna interfered with a low blow. Kane won. HHH laid in the ring for a while, Chyna came out and went for groin again, and landed it again. She left. he left.
Bossman/Rock vs Austin/Mankind
Rock talked a bit- called the fans trailer park trash, to which someone replied, "We don't have trailers here, we have projects." I thought that was amusing. Mankind asked the Rock why he liked to talk about his ass so much and wondered if he really did suck... funny stuff. Great match, rattlesnake rules (anything goes) with Mankind/Austin getting the win. Stunners for Shane McMahon, beers for Austin/Mankind.
