Sketchbook Images IV

Much of my drive to a part time job in a one hour photo lab is along the ocean. Sometimes I stop on my way to or from this job to sketch for a moment. Sometimes I sketch with a friend from the shoreline or on a beach... Often these works are small and quick. I may use these sketches as a base for other works or I may scan them into a software program and continue to play with them there. I may add color or re-arrange elements or combine works...

This small sketch is from a pull out view point along the drive. Several small islands are visible from this point and parts of Oahu stretch out into the water...

If the light is right and the sky clear I can see Molokai and Maui from Oahu. On this day I could see Molokai but Maui was not visible...

Variations on the computer are endless... Color and other changes are added through software to a simple pen and ink sketch.
