…after the visit with Daine
After they talked to Daine Thayet walked Alanna to her chambers. “Good Night Alanna.” “Good night Thayet.” With that Alanna went to her new chambers, striped of her clothes and fell asleep.
Alanna’s sleep was a fitful one and she dreamed…
She was in a garden and George was seated beside her. “You have done well. The gods are pleased,” George told her. Alanna hugged him fiercely. “Alanna, you must train the the pages and squires well, there is going to be a battle not far off into the future.” “I will,” Alanna replied. “Someone wants to see you.” George left the room much to Alanna’s displeasure. Then the Goddess walked in, a small black cat with purple eyes walked at the Goddess’s feet. “Faithful! Mother!” cried Alanna. “Hello my daughter,” said a voice that sounded liked a pack of hounds on the hunt. Alanna bowed to the Great Mother Goddess and started the cat by her feet that started purring. “I have something to discuss with you Alanna. Alanna nodded to her to go on. “George has explained what you have to do but there is more to say. You don’t know how George and Jonathan died, do you?” No, at least I don’t think so. Why?,” ask Alanna. “Because, that is another part of what you must do, find out how they died.” “But don’t you know?” “We only know part of it and you won’t be able to do what you need to do if we tell you,” replied the Goddess. Anyway it’s time you woke up. Bye.” “Wait I wanted to ask you…” she trailed off in mid-sentence. Then she woke up. “This disappearing thing is really starting to get on my nerves.”
