Avatar (Advanced Virtual...) is a role playing multi-user dungeon (MUD) that is very complex and versatile. No one has a specific role in Avatar, so you can choose who and what you want to be. As soon as you step into Avatar, you step out of the real world and into a fantasy world. In Avatar you search around and fight what you want. For every kill you recieve you will get experience points. Every race has a different about of experience points til next level (TNL). As soon as you reach your designated experience points you advance a level, and in power.
Avatar is a family mud, and anyone can play. Swearing is not permitted so no one is exposed to any negative language or harassment. There are some very young players, and some "more experienced" players. Everyone will be treated as equals, and the Immortals will handle any situation that threatens the solace in Avatar.
You can either download a MUD program (like ZMud or some other one) or you can telnet (if your browser accepts it) to telnet://avatar.walrus.com:3000.
