It consumes the thoughts and the hearts of the human race. It governs our actions, it forms our words, it writes our laws, it starts our wars. Fear is responsible for the murder of 9 million* "witches", 6 million Jews, and goddess knows how many Native Americans were slaughtered, and Africans were enslaved, tortured and killed. Fear was behind the "Tin Soldiers" spraying bullets into a crowd of Vietnam War Protesters at Kent State, killing 4 young people and injuring 9 more. As I write this on May 4rth 2000, that happened 30 years ago today.
Justice, life, love and respect mean nothing in the face of this monster.
Often the root of Fear is in ignorance......and a possible LOSS OF CONTROL. It is my opinion that the Inquisition was launched because The God-Almighty Catholic Church wanted complete control over the lives of the people. They did not want to give the power away to anyone......lest of all the Women.
They used fear against and between the people, much like they use the fear of God in their religion. To be murdered in the name of God has to be the grandest contradiction of all times. Yet it happens every day.
